MAY411 on a V70 estate. I actually quite like ones that spell names correctly, like that.

My dad would love to have BUR100 (Bur-ton) but I don't think it was issued.

Saw 1 FLU on a Nissan Patrol in Cornwall tother day , bet the plates worth a shit load more than what it was screwed to .

Anyone got a cheap, dateless plate for sale?

Go to Northern Ireland you can get tasteful and sophisticated ones saying things like BAZ 6969

Whatever you do in your spare time with dogs is your business, best not tell everyone though.

I fancy a symmetrical plate, mirror symmetry and rotational symmetry (as they say in maths lessons).

It would have to feature O, X, H, 0 or 8 only. Would read the same if seen in the mirror or if fitted upside down. (If the spacing rules are ignored).

OX08 OXO or HH08 OHH for example. Zero and O are identical on plates so would be more symmetrical as a plate than as text here.

Saw a Porsche of some kind last week in Cornwall with reg. F4RT M.

Couldn't decide whether the owner was..

A. M Fort, but hadn't realised how it actually looked/read

B. Stricken with wind and had a sense of humour

C. Owned a company specialising in bowel/digestive treatments

D. One of those fun* 'types' who sneaks up on you at work and boffs on your head whilst you are looking for something in a lower desk drawer.

I was rather perplexed by PO05 FUN seen this afternoon on an Audi. Poos fun? I guess its owner must actually enjoy using the toilet

There are a few good ones local to me. REG 21 is on an old boys Sierra Sapphire GLX which was on his old mk1 Cavalier when I was a kid and thats the only 2 cars hes had in the last 25 years.

6 LU is on an 80s Lotus Excel which hasn't moved off the old guys drive in a decade.

My old Gaffer had 60 GO on his Porsche 911 which according to askmid is on a z4 alpina now which is probably also his.

There was a  mk1 mini going back a few years with JES 51E was a bit of a wreck on a drive local and I suspect it was being kept for the reg.

I wouldn't say no to a nice old money type reg on the cossy if the chance ever comes along to obtain one at reasonable price.

I think some people decide not to bother with all that paperwork nonsense when they get a plate, there have been a few on this thread that don't appear on Cartell/DVLA. The guy who got let off with doing 155mph while on the phone a few years ago also had a private plate that didn't relate to the car. He was let off with that too.

A bit of nosing about tells me that P88HSE is on a Rangey. Maybe it was a questionably laid out plate, as P38HSE isn't a number the DVLA would have retained for selling.

I'm normally pretty 'meh' about plates, but thought this one I spotted today was great:

Probably owns a haulage firm or something.

Just spotted this (H8 RON - Sorry its a poor photo), quite intrigued to know who Ron is and why he hates him so much.
