Or you could just buy off the local criminal....

Cannock Auctions.

You came up with airy-fairy excuse about not making it this weekend, well next weekend is not this weekend.

I'll even come and pick you up for free! I won't however take you back, so you'd better buy something.

A most excellent suggestion.

I did spot that, but it is about twice my budget. And even that amount makes me nervous.

Sadly, I am otherwise engaged. Not so the following weekend...

Saturday 24th, then.  The AS Massiv expects...  ;)

A new day, a new 'what can I buy?' situation. This week, I'll mostly be looking at cheap Jaguar X308s.

A car that ticks many boxes has been found on Ebay, for sale with a trader. It is up for £995. I have entered discussions about the price. Being a trader, he has told me that they have an offer of £950 on the table. One wonders why they have not taken an offer that is so close to their asking price. I have wished them well and said to contact me if the deal falls through. Lo! The chap has emailed me to say there's no deal until cash changes hands! Verily, I did almost fall off my chair in disbelief.

Still not entirely sure what to do next though. It is a fair chunk more than I was planning to spend, though I should shortly be getting a chunky invoice paid. I think for now, I'll focus on editing the magazine that's due at the printers tomorrow, because that doesn't seem very far away.

You could buy a shonky American car with a busted spring for £very little instead. Put all you efforts into tracing unobtainable parts from ebay USA and bask in the glow of 'restoring'....

No...? Ok. Fair enough..

I cannot afford that much arse. I am slightly curious about these though, even if they are to blame for utterly shit rear light design.

Is200's are cheap though. They're nice enough to drive and not to awful to run it get parts for.

Posted

200s are cheap because they're a 2 litre I6, and have the running costs associated with a six cylinder car.

Aye. May as well get the IS300 for the same fuel but moar Jeremy Clarkson impressions.

But they're not in shite territory price wise.

Posted

Dropped an offer on the Honda SMX, one of few cars I've looked at that should (in theory) be able to do 35mpg. First offer rejected. Now pondering.

Theres plenty of cheap IS200 saloons around, the estate seems to be still a little above shite territory admittedly.

So, in other words he hasn't actually had an offer of £950 at all.

Believability (of dealer) rating: -15

Quite. I could be tempted, but I fear I may just scrape enough together to buy a Jaguar, but find running one may be another matter. Especially as that one sat unused for a goodly while.
