LOOK AT THIS Every week a Bulgarian Larry sets off with treasure for the promised land after loading up in north London. Bulgary looks like the new London mare is behind it as I can't spot a Gwizz on there

They do convert them to rhd too, it's fairly cheap to do apparently, there are guys who specialise in it.

Film props I reckon.

A 2 litre that colour has been in a lot of 70's period stuff recently.

Cemetery Junction 2010.

Why the Caprice would ever be in the same film as the others though, I have no idea.

Ace thread. Well done.

I've been waiting for months to look at a picture of a transporter with dull nearly new cars on it and to read some ambiguous text that could have been copied from a Daily Mail comments page.

Some countries you can't register RHD I'm their country. A lot of the problem is in a lot of the old eastern block countries cars are relatively expensive however insurance is not. Add in the fact that a lot of cars on the road in places like Romania are old beaters, a lot but them here, drive them back home and register there. Then when they return over here they are on the home countries tax, insurance and mot system thus avoiding parking fines, speeding etc for a good six months or so. Try selling a 10-15 year old BMW, Audi or Passat and you'll be beset with dozens of migrant workers only too keen to buy it.

I see a lot of Polish and Eastern European car transporters on the M27, they go to the car auctions and pick up what they want then take them back.

A mate from work used to do it too, he's Polish and used to buy decent used cars, motorbikes, mopeds etc and now and again take them back to Poland and sell them for a lot more than he'd payed here.

I went round his house one day and he had a Lexus Soarer ready to drive back and a Mondeo estate with it's rear seats folded down and the whole back end filled with two mopeds!

He couldn't believe cars were so cheap here, even for fairly new stuff. He said us Brits are stupid and wasteful keep changing cars for no reason! I'm inclined to agree with him.

He said most of the cars will simply be sold, some get a LHD conversion, once in Poland but a lot also get stripped for parts.

Sold my old Focus to a Polish fella. Couldn't fault him, come round had a drive, made a reasonable offer. Away he went! None of all this 'last price?' Bollocks. He was taking it home for spares. Usually find the poles know their stuff when it comes to mechanics.

A Polish guy bought my Laguna auto. Maybe they don't know their stuff.

Czech shiters are worse than some of you lot for collection capers.

My lad sold his stupidly fast Scooby on ebay, bloke in Czech republic bought it and got his mate to give him a lift door to door in a modernish Skoda.

No messing dead straight deal, cash paid job done drove it home.

We can't have anyone beat us at travelling obscene distances for a used car.

Someone is going to have to buy one of those Chinese Austin Maestro/Montego mash ups and drive it all the way back here to ensure that we don't end up losing our crown in the future.

Or he knows something we don't.

I've seen more mk1 Lagunas (Laguni?) in the last week than ever in the UK.

Few newer about too

Mk3 Astra,mk3 Golf and the ubiquitous Audi 80 seem to be the most popular choice for the city and large town suburban driver.5308e26557016e0aceed347de9f5efd5.jpg

Anyone with money goes for a big black Beemer or Merc.

The opposite end of the scale is still running Lada, old school Skoda and the odd Wartburg slung in. 576f0a90b3923a78064a096add5ec529.jpg

Throw in a fair number of Renault 19s,Mondeo mk1s and even the odd Bx make chod spotting a visual overload

The only obvious UK rhds are usually re-reg Shogun/Warrior types..

If the East Europeans,or anyone else want to take advantage of our throw away cars then good luck to them

Why use one of those atrocious flying Routemasters?

I'm envisioning an avalanche of half arsed parts cars rolling off a ferry in Calais, Bucketeer's house* bound, with the first wreck having to be replaced with some local shite about 4 km into France.

It will be interesting to compare the fleet that left the UK with the one arriving at .bg. Then flog what's floggable and go shopping with the proceeds for return leg chod.

Extra beige points will be awarded for not making it back.

Not even a post-2001 numberplate, some old shit literally cobbled together in Word. A cardboard and Sharpie effort would have been better!
