The body deteriorates so quickly that you will notice the misfire less and less due to the reduced weight.

This was/is also a problem with the Mk2 Focus, particularly the 1.6 petrol - one solid way to prevent this is to install the plastic cover over the spark plug channel from a Volvo S40 that shares the same engine - not sure if it's the same for the Fusion/Mk6 Fiesta. Ford left the brass threads for the extra cover in the cam cover but probably decided not to spend the money on putting it on, probably deeming it a cosmetic frippery.

heres the pictures,went to breakers,got a coil pack,plus leads,due to the old one had a chunk missing out of it,!!!got a new no name o2 sensor £20, did a compression test all cylinders around 200,so no damaged valves,got some spark plugs,fitted them,removed old coil,leads,someone had tie wrapped the previous leads,fitted other coil plus leads,misfire now gone,running great,someone on the prv had mixed up leads 2,4,causing the misfire,plugged cde reader in cleared codes,gave it 50 mile drive all clear now to front tyres,both very worn,and one buckled wheel,wheeltrims i got on clearance  £3.00,few dents,who cares...

got lucky on this one,on mot history failed in may on emissions,handbrake,than just 2 miles and mot was done again  june just failed on screenwasher bottle  empty hmm,have since needed to adjust h/brake,...etc.
