strangeangel Posted March 8, 2018 Author Posted March 8, 2018 Well, that's come round quickly! It only seems like five minutes since I was scrabbling around looking for a rear caliper for the last MOT. Sadly, I'm fairly sure it's going to fail, not least on account of there being a hole in the floor under the rear seat. Being a 30 year old Citroën I realise there may be others too... On the up-side, it's driving well with no strange knocks or clonks, and - as has been the case for quite a while now - all the LHM is on the inside. The electrical stuff seems to be doing its thing too, so I'm hoping it's not going to be too hideous a fail. Keep 'em crossed for us, more tomorrow. dollywobbler, djimbob, Dave_Q and 3 others 6

beko1987 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I can't remember the plate... What's the verdict? Positive I presume from your post...
dollywobbler Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I can't remember the plate... What's the verdict? Positive I presume from your post... It is indeed positive. As a former owner, and as this was the last BX I'm likely to own, it pleases me greatly. djimbob, catsinthewelder and strangeangel 3
strangeangel Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 As you've probably gathered, I wasn't expecting that! There was an advisory: 001 Fluid suspension accumulator slightly deteriorated Offside Rear [2.4.D.1b] but that's as bad as it gets. Well pleased. Six-cylinder, catsinthewelder, New POD and 2 others 5
Cleon-Fonte Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Top stuff! May the BX of Many Shiters pass many more MoTs with flying colours. strangeangel 1
strangeangel Posted July 4, 2018 Author Posted July 4, 2018 An update for this car's friends, for I know it has a few... 4 x front to rear hydraulic pipes1 x accumulator sphere1 x N/S handbrake cable1 x rear height corrector Plus labour. Well in excess of what it's worth, but when did that ever factor in? Still batting. somewhatfoolish, angle, Dave_Q and 14 others 17

somewhatfoolish Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Does it need a whip-round for these precious things?
dollywobbler Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Does it need a whip-round for these precious things?I believe this is Strangeangel's Autoshite bike BX, not the beige beauty. What's happening with the beige beauty?

dean36014 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I must admit I thought it was the rescue MK1 too at first. Glad to see the estate is still alive and ticking

SierraMikeHotel Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 I'm happy with the Saab at the moment but I've got half an eye out for a decent BX estate. I really regret selling mine.
strangeangel Posted January 13, 2019 Author Posted January 13, 2019 A blood-curdling clonk from the rear axle that can only be fucked trailing arm bearings is now in evidence. The old dear has laboured on honourably as first choice/only car (there have been bits of 205 everywhere for a year now) since it's last whopper of a bill in July '18, but still... Bugger.
dollywobbler Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Arse. Still, I think I paid £140 per side to get the rear arm bearings on my old BX replaced. strangeangel 1
Talbot Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 I'd rather do rear arm bearings than a re-pipe. They're really not that hard to do. Worst bit is the bolts that hold the clamp on the rear anti-roll bar.. they are always insanely tight. I use a 1/2" 6-side socket on them with either a rattle gun or a very long powerbar, and still struggle. Other than that, fairly straightforward. There's some photos of one I did in my historic chod link below. strangeangel 1
