Manufacturer's emblem on the steering wheel

Can anyone think of a car that doesn't have the manufacturer's emblem on the steering wheel? Airbag or not, all cars seem to have one..

I can't!

Austin Princess 2

The earlier model and the later model (that should have been 3 but was still sold as a 2) both had emblems on the wheel, but the 2 never did.

Compared with my W123, which is of similar vintage, that dash looks brittle and fragile, albeit not without its charms.

VW Beetles have the Wolfsburg crest which technically ain't the manufacturers logo.

Numerous Citroen wheels like this GSA one

(and indeed most of the GS ones, because the square Citroen badge always falls off)

Rover SD1 series 1

Renault 16TL

Vauxhall Victor FE

and that's just from my fleet!

Logos on steering wheels are largely an 80s invention.

Ok ok! Stop it you lot!

I couldn't think of one and already there's a list of ten.

The last of the Montegos didn't really have a "manufacturer" as such and had a Montego badge which was a bit Roverish but not really.

I think most of the ex BL / Austin products at the time had a similar name badge arrangement.

205 and 309 GTi had "GTI" badges on the wheel in place of the usual lion.

Didn't the 16v Astra mk2 GTE had a 16v badge in place of the griffin?

Early airbag wheels often reverted to an embossed logo rather than a badge, perhaps with manufacturers worrying about a badge/face interface when it goes off, after a few years they seemed to overcome this technical challenge and badges are seen more regularly again.

Not just Beetles but Mk1 Golfs, Sciroccos, Passats etc. Think it was the early 80s when they started using the VW logo on steering wheels?

Didn't early mk2 Polos have the Wolfsburg crest too?

Impreza wheels read 'Impreza'.

Early '80s Austin Minis with the 'bus' wheels.

Anything with a Mountney wheel

MX5 mk1 - Momo wheel as standard.

'70s Triumphs (Toledo, Dolomite, Stag, 2000 mk2) mostly had the model name on the wheel centre, but ones that say 'Triumph' exist.

Early TR7s have a blank wheel.

As said, 205 GTIs and SD1 Rovers, as shown by my own pics:

STUNO's old SD1.

Our 205 after an attempted theft. Now thankfully fixed, courtesy of the Mallam Massiv's plentiful PSA spares hoard - bits aren't so easy to pick up here.

Lastly, my VB Commodore - not sure if later versions had an emblem or not. Can't remember where I stored the car phone after removing it.

C15 Van

Viva HC and other various vx from the time had impact absorbing in the wheel.

Scimitars! Later ones have just GTE on the wheel. SS1s have blank wheels too.

Various triumphs, they read dolomite or Toledo etc, mk1 mx5 have momo or Nardi (? Or something like that)

I think Bedford CF2's didn't have an emblem or logo on the steering wheel either, but could be wrong here

The Maserati Biturbo just has phone numbers for Green Flag and the Samaritans on the steering wheel.

MX5 mk2 has 'Nardi' on the steering wheel. That was the Italian makers of MX5s, Mazda just sold them in Japan after re-badging them.

So I guess it no longer counts in this thread.... :)
