Come on down, the SHITE IS RIGHT!!!

Posted

Shame someone's obviously bought it to make a few quid, they will struggle at even £995 though i think.

Posted

I wonder if 100 like minded Shiters donated it to stixy at £9.95 a pop, for safe care and storage? Ultimate Autoshite loan car.

if you look beyond the bodywork its an apealling car, well its exactly the sort of thing I would consider, priced to high though

$995 Jeez Maybe $9.95 if they chucked in some mints and there was some change under the seat!

a one hundredth share in a shonky old sierra.....tempting!

Complete with RABBI SATAN'S AIRFILTER and bonus BANSAI BATTERY!

The bodywork is the appealing bit. That F/OS wheel arch/wing damage is a work of art - no conceivable collision could have caused that.

I can see the RS and XR owners climbing over themselves to rape that for parts for their cars!!

Posted

I wasn't expecting a dangly mirror Sierra when I clicked.

I was expecting D701SWL or a Horsey Horseless.

Needs photoshopping onto a white background.

An extra 0 on price 'cos of the grey grille.

A real Ford enthusiast will purchase that at the asking and preserve it as it is or restore it to as-new.  Unfortunately, no such person really exists so this will likely now be ruined.

That really needs to be bought by the National Trust and preserved for future generations. We can turn up on Sunday afternoons and enjoy guided tours of a miserable old Ford.

The replacement front plate still has the protective blue plastic on it  :-D:roll:

Not a 1.3?

Ahm oot.

I'd pay close to that if I could afford it, it's flipping brilliant.

Posted

Hnnnnggg I have so much want for that, if I had space I would

Posted

I would love it to add to my collection of one y reg ford but at about half that price.

Posted

Sadly, that is doomed at the hands of the philistines with their stupid RS etc plans. I love this car and personally I think it is worth the asking price.

How about a roffle? It would be £16.86 a ticket. A London based Shiter could collect the money and go and rescue te car?

Posted

Too many monies, I fear.

If it were sub £700 I could just about imagine me buying it, running it for a while for shits'n'giggles then raffling it at an acceptable loss, but a bag is too much and so is £16-odd a ticket.

That is great!!!

Just an observation but some people on here are proper blinkered!! For every RS licker there's a "proper enthusiast" (whatever that is) who will put the effort in to restore to factory spec, just try and turn your wanky prejudices off and have a look around and some of the restos and auctions over the past couple of years.

Posted

I'm not sure who you're accusing of wanky prejudice. We're just saying it's overpriced. If you want to pay that for it, knock yourself out pal.

Posted

I don't think the price is outside the realms of feasibility given how rare it is. Even though it looks knocked around it appears to be quite solid.

Posted

I simply cannot remember the last time I saw a grey grilled Sierra.  A very very long time ago.

It is a bit expensive, but when you consider restoration cost, what difference does a couple of hundred make?

Bit grim with 4 speed box though.
