I was jealous of @Slowsilver's cassette, so I found there was also a love song version, and bought it.

That's a great period extra to have. I don't think I'd play it but it'll look good in the car.

I've got two of these radio cassettes stashed away. Are they from this era of Ford or earlier?

That one was fitted into the Mk3.5 Fiestas and probably Escort/Orions. I think these came out in ‘93/94.

That's actually a really good tape well apart from rod Stewart.

Should be about right, same as the one my L plate Fiesta had.

Still miss those seats, they were a lovely soft velour material.

Same era. '2006' model on all but ghia that got '2007'. There were then optional upgrades with CD player.

In the Feb 1994 brochure the base model only got the 2005.  Weirdly, although the Mondeo Ghia got the 2007, the Granada Ghia only got the 2006.

There's a page in the brochure explaining the different radios:

When the RR Silver Spirit was first launched in 1980 it came with a cassette explaining how to use the stereo. I once found one in a Spirit and put it on to see what’s on there- it opened with Money, money, money by ABBA , I could just imagine some smug 80’s corporate raider, singing along in his new Roller.

I think it was a Ford 2015 radio cassette in my old Fiesta Equipe going by the pictures.

I saved a 2015 from my dad's escy sapphire before it was cubed.

I had an LX once it had the 6000RDS from the Scorpio I think it was with the CD changer, AVC, RDS and all that bollocks. Was a good set but those old Visteon units seem to just fuck up at a seconds notice, on mine the volume went to the max and wouldn’t turn down.

I once had a CD ROM of the original Focus from 1998. I had no PC of my own back then so I played it on a PC at college to check it out.

I think I sold it on eBay in the 2000s when even snow could be sold to Eskimos using that method.

I’ve got that too, it’s somewhere in the ‘pile of shit’ box at my dad’s. It was actually a properly good CD ROM back in the day. IIRC you could configure your ‘dream Focus’. I chose an Aquafrost 2.0 Ghia Saloon, naturally.

The driver's seatbelt is very slow to retract. So I clamped it open and gave it a dunk in washing up liquid for a  a couple of hours. Some muck came off it. And it's..., marginally better....oh well.

Silicone spray? Mr sheen? Leave it alone?

Maybe it is the reel itself.

Clag build-up in the reel mechanism, dragons lurk within in the form of giant watch springs that leap out, never to be returned to their lair, like malevolent jack-in-the-boxes.

I’ve got a seatbelt reel on the Mk2 I’m breaking. Sticks a bit though.

Thanks for that, but I think I'll 'stick' with mine for now, it's better than it was.

I have the same issue with my Almera. I tried...either furniture polish or dashboard cleaner...and it was a bit better.

Yep, I did the same treatment on the Mazda today to reasonable effect. Other pissing about was Vactan application to the main engine mount (being careful to not get any on the belt!) and raiding my parts store for some new OEM wiper blades. Still have one more set of those with the little spoiler.

Did a bit of waxing now the UV is getting stronger. Using Bilt Hamber double speed.

As you can see the crazing and thinning on the bonnet is slowly getting worse

Did the roof

Need to do the tailgate that also has crazing and thinning

Clay bar would probably be useful to do in some areas. Never used one.

It is ok, obviously don't have the clearcoat issue that the metallic paints suffer from.
