I'll keep the roffle going, but she's up on carandclassic now, so if someone comes with cash, she might be away.

The other option seems to be:  not sell all numbers, keep car, refunds all round.  Which puts everyone in the same position pretty much?

I could be wrong though, there might be a right rush and we could Roffle it this Saturday.

I hope so anyway.

41 please. But let me get this right. This is the right XUD engine with a Bosch pump and air con? Plus it's an estate so you could load it up with lots of veg oil at 50p per litre (Ebay) or 61p (some cash & carry or other). So I could potentially save £1,200 per year on fuel on my 25k p/yr commute?. And the car costs about £1,000 and has had about that in work done on it recently. Bit of a no brainer really. Someone should just buy it. Probably me.

All correct.

Comes with free fish supper, manual boost controller and boost gauge at full asking price.

Just in case anyone is hungry and wants much more extra power, for free.

I never bothered, but amassed the parts.

Posted

How long have you had the fish supper?

It will be prepared fresh, on the day of collection by a master fishketeer.

Because you can.

You only have to accept the cost.

Bloke in the pub told me that unless this motor gets sold asap, Jeremy Corbyn is going to introduce a bill that will involve melting down every XUD powered car in Britain in order to build a statue of Che Guevara snogging Spike Lee, to be sited at Longbridge. Facing west

27. For me please... I too need payment details or was it posted earlier??

Posted

I'll send out payment details to those that haven't paid, if all the numbers go. No real point in doing it before then.

Posted

Do you have to have all numbers covered? Just thinking if not you could suggest if say 50 numbers go, you'll go with it and have a roll over if not gone Saturday. Possible chance of selling the remaining tickets before Wed's draw if so. I can't afford to gamble £18 at the moment so I'm out, but GL M8

Similarly, I can't really afford to bin £162 at the moment, but its certainly something to consider for the future man.

I hope the National Lottery are happy with themselves, upping the Lotto numbers to 59 has made Autoshite roffles 20% harder to win.

We should use the Euromillions draw and first number drawn, that would teach 'em.

On that particular topic I don't know how they get away with it, suppose most people don't realise how much harder they've made the lottery to win; they'll just be more rollovers (good for their publicity) and millions of useless free entry wins worth nothing.

Posted

Don't let them have the last laugh. Simply buy 20% more numbers in AS raffles to redress the balance.

I must admit the 59 numbers is why I've not bought a ticket. £18 on a 59-1 shot seems big odds.

49 seemed kinda winnable but the extra 10 has put me off. Apparently lotto sales were down 30 % last sat.

That said... It does look a tasty motor!

I hadnt thought about it like that, but i suppose you've got a good point.  Is this the end for AS roffles?

Posted

I think it is just the price.

At £7 a ticket I don't think there would be an issue.

Not saying the car isn't worth that (I have put name against 2) it is just a big higher than normal.

Posted

yeah, thats another good point.  I was a bit hesitant at starting a roffle at this ticket price, but there did seem to be a lot of enthusiasm.  Hopefully future offerings hit a better ballance.

I'll keep it going, but if theres not a surge in interest I'll probably just scrap it and get a brand new Honda Jazz on finance.

Posted

Here's a thought; why not create a raffle with not quite all the lotto tickets in future? Not on this high priced effort but maybe a £300 could attract 30 £10 tickets, say numbers 1 to 30, with the first of those being drawn being the winner. Then if none of those numbers are drawn, there's a rollover with a boot full of shit added each time, etc.

I'm a bit too far to ever take part but still take interest in all this old stuff.
