Raffle Temptations - What's your Kryptonite

The raffles are awesome. So far, easy to resist when the fleet is looking quite comprehensive. I figure we've all got some bit of Autoshite that would get the cash out and the hope of winning, particularly stuff that might seem out of character.

I reckon I'd be unable to resist a Rover Tomcat coupé. Don't know why.

I did enter one of Billy's raffles but it was so bad I can't even remember what it was now...

These raffles are all very 2015 don't you think.

Goes and waits patiently for Skizzer or Breadvan to auction their SD1's...

The only one I have gone in for so far was the Rover 75.

an Xj40 would stir my interest too.

So English and wafty seem to be the requirements.

I've managed to resist all but one raffle so far, I haven't a clue what I'd do If I won another car so it needs to be something pretty special for me to justify doing it.

Price and location - I bought 4 tickets for the Mitsy when it was in Sale, but now its in Newcastle or summat like that it doesnt hold the same appeal.

Any raffle under £5 will get me into a lot of bother.

This. I'm a whore for cheap 80's Jap tin too.

Also, I'd part with a fair amount of cash for a chance to win a Rover P6...

A three wheeler would have me buying numerous tickets (although preferably a Reliant rather than a Suzuki Baleno minus a wheel) or a Jaaaag...

anything rover shaped i guess.......

dunno why i'm just a sucker for them.

and an allegro. no reason why i like them but i do.

i've got a jaguar, SWMBO is making noises about selling it, so maybe a jaguar too?

i guess i am a sucker for anything british and regarded by the rest of the world as crap?

Anything with wheels & an MoT. I just want to win a car via raffle so I can post a collection thread :-)

I nearly bought a ticket for the Colt until I realised the petrol home would buy me a winter shitter in the street where I live. Would probably be tempted by anything without an EML by mid November....

Depends how much I've had to drink and how interesting the collection might be. A day out is part of the appeal to me. £5 car, spend £143 collecting it.

Entered all the Rover raffles so far  :-D

2 tickets for raffle Rover cost me £20 and £100 for delivery  :-D

A decent Ventora - I would buy all the fecking tickets, SD1 - mk1 Granny - Citroen BX GTI - Fussy fucker as I be !!

I haven't entered any of the raffles as yet,but if Vantman had raffled that Audi i may have joined in.

At work we have a monthly raffle it use to be for a micra than it went to a cash draw. cost is £15 so £180 a year over the 23 years i have worked there is £4140.

Have i ever won?  Have i bollocks  i have never won anything. Some of the lads have won 2 or 3 time.

I get tempted by the them all. Really wanted the pride, pleased I won the Rover (colleshun tonight).

In real world I have no need for them. The only thing I am going to be allowed is a car that will do 40mpg round town for my daily commute as will make financial sense (rather than Saab's 23mpg)

So any car especially one I would never buy. But tickets over £10 are bit of no no unless bargainous value or x special

An XJ40 or a Seat Marbella would have me buying a LOT of tickets.

Mind you, so does anything much with a Rover badge.

(waits patiently for RobT's 214 to be raffled).

Although it has to be under about £8-£10 really, anything more becomes a bit too much money to throw away.

Truthfully, I'd be happy winning almost anything but I'm too lazy to travel so I try not to bother with anything more than maybe 90 minutes away.

I'd certainly reconsider for a decent Calibra, Cavalier Mk3 SRi, early Nova or almost any

Corsa B.

I've only entered the current Suzuki one. Everything else has been too far away and up to now I've had no need of a second car

Posted

Only did one raffle, the one for Billys Punto. I have no room for extra cars so didn't feel bad if i had one as he said he would bridge if the winner required.

Now if a marina or ital came up i may* purchase a number of tickets and be willing to travel to saturn or futher :)

Anything remotely unusual that I'm unlikely to ever actually buy. MOT is a bonus, as is being within a few hundred miles.

I've found it difficult to resist several of these raffles so far.  It's even harder if the tickets are below a fiver, in fact I usually go for at least one if that's the case, doesn't matter much what the car is as long as it has MoT and can be driven home from wherever it is.  I don't think I want to do a really epic collection, so I'm kind of hoping I don't win the Suzuki, but then, it does look like a nice car.  Even if it is exactly not my type, and I already have two cars and no driveway.

What really rings my bell?  Almost anything American, or a van/estate, and the older the better.

Posted

I have resisted until now and bought a baleno ticket as it was only 4 quid, fuck knows what I'll do if I win as it couldn't be much further away, it's a fun way of spending the price of a pint.

Posted

Rancho. Better odds on winning a raffle than getting any response out of a French or Belgian seller, in my experience.

Posted

Anything Eastern European and appalling would get me, preferably styled on a melted rubies cube and with some vague commercial usage as history. And orange would be good.......
