Fake spotter thread

[FakeConcern]

In Zurich today and on the main roads it was immediately apparent what a rich city it is. I lost count of the number of new G Wagons, Range Rovers, RS6 Avants with black windows and even a RR Cullinan. Walking along we passed a posh classic car dealership, not really my thing, but interesting

DB2

2002 Turbo

246GT Dino in strange livery

Along the back streets some more shite.
Bluebird seen better days

Looks like it’s not moved for a while

Golf. Cabriolet Mk3.5

Nice 900

which I assume as there’s no badge is not a Turbo

A few stickers though

Old BMW, is it an E3? I can never remember the designation

Lancia Ypsilon

I like to see cars we didn’t get, when did they stop importing Lancias to the UK? I guess soon after the Beta rust scandal.

Is this Genesis one we don’t get in the UK, I don’t recognise it?

I always liked the Laguna II

Getting thing on the ground in the UK

PT Cruiser

I like these for looking silly while being practical

Almost back to my friend’s house and spotted an S40, I own a C30 so always look at these. I was surprised to see it’s AWD, these are sought after by Mk2 Focus ST owners to rob the transmission from. I actually saw a C30 T5 like mine that had been converted recently at a Volvo event

[FakeConcern]

Today’s Swiss instalment

Mk1 Citroen C5

Jeep and Peugeot 106

Pic taken through the window of a Clio, so not the best, but the Alfa GTV looked great!

Old Sprinter camper van

Another Mk4 Golf Cabriolet

this was really nice with lovely leather interior

Carina

Some more terrible pics taken through a Clio window

Ovlov 940 with silly wheels, Mk1 Citroen C4 Hatch (I’ve owned 3 VTS C4s) and BMW E46  Touring

Ovlov 460 which looks like it hasn’t moved in years

[FakeConcern]

Last day in Switzerland

VW LT beaver tail

MkIII Spitfire in a showroom

An Italian car collection starting with a Fiat 130, I honestly don’t remember when I last saw one

A bit of a mess

I wonder what will happen with it

Fiat Tempra

nice looking from the back

Alfa Spider

Hood mouldy, but looks ok

Alfa 156 Sportwagon V6

Another LT, this time a Westfalia camper

Lastly a Citroen C4 VTS, I love these and have owned three of them . Shame about the scrape down the side

I believe on the continent VTS is just a trim level, but the spoiler and trapezoidal exhaust make me think it’s the full fat petrol 180 bhp one like mine were

[FakeConcern]

I've just found some old ones on my phone...

In Brighton ( @eddyramrod )

Madeira Drive Brighton some Escrotes and Jags

E Type 2+2

Civic in Ebo

Rod thing on the way to a Hastings car show

RS2000 with crap plate on the A27

CF Ice Cream van Portsmouth

I'll stop here for now and see what's left to post later.

[FakeConcern]

I've decided to bring this up to date now while I'm at least half in the mood...

I often pass this Audi

80 near Hankham while out cycling so decided to stop and snap it

Traveller in Kemptown

I like them in Almond Green

Bay Window also Kemptown

XR3i Cab in Saltdean

No idea what this is hiding in Hythe

How often do you see a custom CF these days @eddyramrod?

This is always parked very close to where I live so decided to get off my bike and take a few pics

I'm glad I did

A couple of Smart Brabus' in Worthing

And just around from them was this Mk1 Cortina

Swiss registered

I don't remember seeing over riders on the rear bumper before

I passed my driving test in a Mk1 Cortina, but a four door, dark blue with a gold flash!

Still Worthing

And this BMW thing with silly wheels

Scimitar down a side street

Two Mk3 Golf Cabs in the same road

Accord

900

Pug van not old enough for black plates

Mini on A27

And leaving Worthing

Nice Alfa at Cooden

and bringing us up to date a V70R just around the corner from my house

I don't think it has the orange interior, but still very nice

View through the bus shelter

Crappy BMW getting in the way

[eddyramrod]

Nice CF   Even when they were new, you rarely saw the LWB with single rear wheels; much like the Transit that Dinky erroneously modelled.

Nice Cortina   I'm sure I've told the story of ours: the first car I ever drove, on Southport beach, was the family 2d mk1 that had been used to train Red Rum.

I'm with you all the way on the black plates!

I know it's off topic, but what a shame the Dinky CF is not a patch on the Dinky Transit despite the aforementioned specification anomaly.

Frontera in Pett Level (no idea why it's come out upside down).

Also Pett Level a crusty, but shiny R4

Stag in Rye, shame about the plates

Shame about the wheels as well

Still in Rye Volvo with huge roofrack

Another in the same road

Yet another in a car park!

I know I said a post or two back that you never see the original grill on a 71 MGB, well here's another one!

This V70 T5 (nice plate) parked next to my C30 T5 in Bexhill

SP250 on the A27 at Beddingham

Hard to take a pic as we went past in the Modus, but it looked lovely! The driver gave me a nod when he saw me snapping it..

IIRC, the cross hatches were to allow cyclists to ride on the outer 12-18" of the pavement, though the white line marking their 'lane' seems to have disappeared. Crazy idea, and they had to dodge the lamp posts.

Thanks for clearing that up, I'd never have guessed that was meant to be a cycle lane though I'd often wondered what it was for. I certainly would never cycle along that!

Ah, but what's that in the lockup? Stag or Spitfire, Mk1 Escort or something more interesting? Chevette?

I hadn't noticed the lockup!

By looking at the original pic and comparing to internet search images, I'm pretty sure it's a Spitfire Mk Iv/1500.

We saw the DS on Sunday morning.

It struck me as a crazy waste of money when it was first done. This image shows the faded remains of the other line marking out the other edge of the cycle lane:

The idea originally being that the wider part of the pavement was for pedestrians, the lane with  the 2 adjustment arrows is for parking, and cyclists should use the narrow strip either side of the kerb to ride on. WCPGW?
