Very good!

There's weirder pics to choose, as I am sure you know! Lol.

I usually keep my cars for a few years.

I tend to buy on impulse and regret at leisure, fix what's broken, sell at a loss and then rapidly move on to the next old heap.

A sort of serial adulterer with very low standards

Sounds very familiar!

1967 Peugeot moped. Bought brand new in Roermond, rode it back to the UK in 1969, rode it to the Isle of Skye from Lincoln, used it to commute at various times until 1981. It has languished in my garage ever since.

1961 Reliant Regal MKVI, bought as a barely running, worn out and delapidated project in 1992.  It took until 2005 to get it back on the road and I still have it now (historic taxed and MOT'd).

1988 Hyundai Stellar, bought on a whim from ebay in 2010, unseen.  Love it but don't know why.  Its engine rattles and its body rusts.  Perhaps it's the overwhelming beigeness of the interior.

Previous cars have on average stayed with me for 3 to 7 years before being sold on. Some have lingered longer on the driveway until scrapped, usually forced by a lack of ability and/or funding to fix them.

I've owned my Rover 25 for 13 years.

I really must get the front wings replaced - I've had new ones for about 2 years, and another set of new ones (don't ask) for months.

2 spare engines, 2 spare gearboxes, about 10 or 11 spare wheels,3 spare steering wheels...

Minor 10 years plus

VW Damper 8.5 years

Merc 190E 6.5 years

Cowley 3 years

Generally, I keep my cars long enough for them to have a claim on my pension.   Only severe breakage or making big holes in themselves usually forces a sale.

I would love to be an auto-slut but it has to be deep and meaningful for me.

Mine is usually the last name on the V5, but happily it wasn't for my trusty old C15 (4 years with me) - someone took it on, did all the welding and it's still slogging on like a good 'un.

Had my 205 a couple or three weeks now and really like it, hopefully this one will run and run.

EDIT: How many posts do I have to make to stop my rank being 'Austin Metro'?????

I've had my Cortina estate since 2002.   In that time I have driven maybe 1000 miles, mainly due to being overseas.   Others come and go, not actually scrapped one since 2006 though.

I've had cars a matter of days; I've had cars for 6 years, but it doesn't mean I ever drove the thing!  Of the two listed below, Tacuma came in July 2013 and Mercury in July 2014.  Tacuma's likely to stay a while yet.  Mercury might or might not.

I tend to keep cars for years. The ones I've got now I have no plans to move on.

74 Capri: bought on 10 September 2001. The day before 9/11, I remember I was sat in it listening to the radio when it happened and came on the news!

85 Granada: bought August 2008, when I was supposed to be working not making stupid impulse car purchases.

84 Transit: bought April 2011.

73 Mercury: bought October 2013, but didn't get it imported and in my possession until September 2014!

Alfa - 1 yr 2 months

MR2 blue - 11yrs

MR2 white - 1yr (but not driven...yet)

Last car was an Audi and I owned that for 6 years. I don't tend to change my cars that often as once I've spent a bit of time and money tidying them up I don't want to lose my investment. They often then cost me more so not sure it's a good financial model. If I'm honest I also don't particularly like the selling process either but I do like buying!

Volvo 164 - 10 1/2 years.  Perodua Kenari - 5 days.  The rest of the fleet - somewhere in between.

I've had my Mobylette for nearly 20 years.
