Excellent work, is that a 1600?  I bet you could drive that through Luton and half the townsfolk would go misty eyed.

That is Epic, Back in about 1988 my mums friend had one just like this on a P plate in that blue! Remember going in it a number of times.

I am still half asleep and thought I had clicked on the UMM thread here and was MEGA impressed with your mates mum.

Loving this car. You have got to keep it.

We drove from Galashiels to Western super mare in one for our holidays . When we left the paint was still a bit wet as my dad had bought it as a write off and had been working frantically to get it ready for the holidays and somewhat missed the deadline. Pontins waits for no man.

Took the missus to work today then whanged down to the river with the dog, I love it when it's early and nobody is about. Soz for picture quality* I was using my 'phone, not my camera.

I've just "done the math" and by my reckoning this is 833% better looking than anything Vauxhall have sold over the last 35 years.

Splaff. Oops.

Splaff.

Oh no...

Splaff.

Also is that hickorys?? A bit pretentious the foke in there but the food is amazing. But no where near as amazing as that cavalier.

My long gone grandad only ever had vauxhalls he was one of life's winnars, many a trip was had as a youngster in cavaliers.

Does your missus work at that BBQ place man?!

We popped in there the one time we went to Chez and it was by far the best nosebag ever to pass my quivering lip flaps.

Gorgeous.  No more need be said.

I think his missus is a nurse.

Patience of a saint and all that.

Yes, she is and yes, I have.

A new word needs to be invented to describe this.

I reckon nonshivox.

The only thing wrong with that is it's too early in the production run to benefit from a glorious tartan interior.

Posted

There's a spec sheet somewhere on Flickr (I think our very own Trigger posted it up) which suggests the 'L' model had that lovely tartan but the GL (and GLS) got snazzy cloth like this one.

Today someone told me their dad had one just like it 'can't go wrong with a Chevette.'

I shall be keeping my eyes peeled in the Chester area for a glimpse of this beauty! Superb! From an era when Vauxhalls were awesome!

'can't go wrong with a Chevette.'

Easy mistake to make.

Except you really can go wrong with a Chevette

Yeah, you can!  I did, but the last one was over 20 years ago now.
