AVAS? Hopefully I'm about to prove that wrong. Quarter of the way through a collection thread....

1/4 is that half way to the collection?

Good luck Billy, you do have breakdown cover, so what's the worst that can happen?

Been to view, paid for it now 2/3rds of the way home in the Vectra as I have to go back later to collect the new motor.

How are you getting on UMMing and ahhing?

Is this one able to get home under its own power without mayonnaise?

I'm bored on a train, 5hrs since I left home, 1hr more on this train, so nearly there.

Spare wheel still bears the original tyre c/w 'VX' stamp! Mileage I'm 99.9% sure is genuine as it was one owner until recently, the original owner had passed away and his grand daughter's boyfriend re-commissioned the car, so his name (and next mine) is on the V5.

It drove back ok, seems to pink slightly under load and there's a wheel balance problem from about 58-63mph. Speedo measured incredibly accurately against my smart phone satellite one, though I doubt I'll be setting world records in it.

It's the GL (but no passenger door mirror) and (probably) after market radio cassette. Really, really genuine car and for the 'new cars are masssive' gang, it's pretty much the same length as my Vectra C!

Fuck yeah! Someone tagged me in this on facebook this morning and i thought t looked good, bargain price too i think.

I look forwards to seeing more photos of it once it's back!

That looks a lovely thing, i can't help but think of blue smarties looking at the pictures

Looks ace, dash seems to be uncracked too, which is rare on these I gather. Mk1 Cavs are lovely things to drive, always remember the gearshift in the one my mate's Mum had back in the day.
Top shiteing Sir! :)

That looks ace Billy, a cut above the usual Cavcraft stock.

Just lovely, even if it is a Vauxhall.

Yep. That's done it. I may never father a child and my entire street is covered in my manfilth.

Lovely.

I'm on my phone with hardly any signal, so can't see the pics. Therefore I just imagined a Mk1 Cav and now I've got a chubby on in Cafe Nero.

That is Epic, Back in about 1988 my mums friend had one just like this on a P plate in that blue! Remember going in it a number of times.

Its almost perfect.

All it needs is a redtop conversion, the springs chopped, some stickers, spacers, some banded steels, a roof rack, some old tins of oil and jerry cans, an upside down Rayleigh Chopper (or Budgie) and a chin spoiler.

Gorgeous!! the next door neighbour's visiting relative had a clean ne well turned out one of these when I was growing up in Cavan - Vauxhall cavalier 4door ( was all opel badging here )with no bumpers front n rear n a shell windscreen sunvisor; I thought he was a 'custom car' genius at 10 years of age.... well bought!!
