Zelandeth Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Wouldn't this be a case where it would be simpler to get the details of the two ends that the cable needs to attach to, the measurements and see if someone like Speedy Cables could make one up?

Yes, but it is getting the pattern that is the problem.
Tadhg Tiogar Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Possible source in France? Probably identical item

mitsisigma01 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Hi Mr6, would Venhill in Dorking be able to help?

mitsisigma01 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Depending on the nipple shape at the pedal end, could the length of outer sleeve be supplied extra long and cut to size to suit and then if need be have a nipple made to suit or a clamp style fixing similar to a pushbike. Is a picture available of a LHD one for its "nipple pic" so we know what we are looking for. ?
Noel Tidybeard Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 a trevi is based on a beta, if only we knew someone with a beta for comparisons..... ?
mitsisigma01 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Find where there was one parked and sift through the rust, I expect the cable would be one of the last things to self destruct ? somewhatfoolish and Ohdearme 1 1
mitsisigma01 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Doesn't appear to be much to them? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184297737692
lanciamatt Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Could you speak to maybe beta boys. They could have the correct carb and cable in.stock, there is a few lancia specialists in UK.
Skizzer Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 There’s a Beta Berlina in my shed, but it’s a 1300 so I’ve no idea whether it’s the same. I agree that BetaBoyz is the way forward. They’ll be your new best friends pretty soon.

They also say due to work commitments they have been very lapse in answering emails.

Zelandeth Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Hmm. Couldn't an LHD cable be used as a pattern at least to have one made? Length will obviously be wrong, but the fittings at each end should be correct though shouldn't they? Or am I applying far too much logic to a Lancia design? The interior is fantastic. Lancia were always mad in that department, but the Trevi dash is bonkers even by their standards! Stinkwheel and LightBulbFun 2

mitsisigma01 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 What's all the sofa's and yamaha cassette deck about????

Mario Bellini is a famous architect who designed a load of funky stuff for Olivetti, Cassina and others in the 1970s/80s, including the Lancia Beta Trevi interior. Most of his work is now very collectible and worth a lot of £££. Six-cylinder, HMC, rainagain and 4 others 4 3

lanciamatt Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Isn't a trevi just a beta underneath, surely beta cable will fit, and I can't imagine carb overly difficult to find,.
PhilA Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Never seen a Trevi before. Looks like the offspring of a 1983 Mercedes 300SL (arse) and a GAZ Volga 31029 (front). It's all serious and business up front and all sporty at the back. It is an automotive mullet. Phil somewhatfoolish 1

There seem to be an infinite variety of cables when I look at pictures and nothing to be clear what fits what.
J-T Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Was the Trevi just a Beta saloon or was it bigger than a Beta (if it was they could have called it an Alpha and caused all kinds of confusion)?
Richard_FM Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Lancia deliberately skipped Alpha for the obvious reason that they didn't want to cause any confusion with Alfa Romeo.
