If your car collection kept breaking down would it be prudent to buy another hard to maintain additional car!

Yes incoming today generously delivered @Talbot and @Gabriall

I like to imagine  there was some sort of elaborate bartering and bargaining going on between you and @Mrs6C to get that allowed!

"ill let you recommission the Invacar if you let me buy @Talbot's C6..." or vice versa "ill let you buy that C6 you keep going on about if you let me get the Invacar sorted"

would be fun to see it photographed next to the DS, or @richardmorris's/ @Three Speed's Traction Avant

Why not both?  Slot in Mrs6C's XM and drag the CX out of the barn for the occasion and you could have a photo with every generation of big Citroën.

This could do with some TLC, for sure. Any volunteers?

I heard the XM knocked them both out then stole the credit card as it felt they didn't have enough Citroëns

In all seriousness, can I book a drive please?

A good day out at Oxford Bus Museum yesterday with @LightBulbFun, @Mr Pastry and my friend Colin with our 3 ADO16s at there spring meeting.

I also came home needing some work on my Morris 1300. It had a bomp over rough roads, now it bangs away all the time after 60 miles yesterday.

It was hard to photograph inside the museum as all the buses filled the space.

If the noise is a deep bonk, say similar to exhaust knocking through the cars body I'd expect the rear subframe mount has failed at the front of the subframe.

The VP would thump more when at speed and catching a bump in the road, Less so around town and that was completely separated.

I was at an event at Stokenchurch yesterday, and would have liked to have got over to see the ADO16's at the museum, but ran out of time. As the organisers had laid on a very comprehensive brunch for us it seemed rude not to partake and then to leave early to catch the ADO16 action!

It looks like there was a good turnout at Hanborough.

Thank you, yes makes sense. It needs something done and is now on the broken list.

My Mini is on the broken list as well.

Lets hope the Manta keeps going for tonight's Deanshanger Car Meet.

If it's a hammering noise through the front footwells they have a felt bush in the steering rack (passenger side) which dies. Not the easiest thing to change, though there is a modern plastic replacement.

I've also had rear subframe mounts fail, letting the body and subframe touch, and bang over bumps, and knackered trailing arm bearings do similar.

Hopefully it's just exhaust rubbers!

Last night I read the ad for the free project Renault 6 which reminded me I have a 1108cc Renault 4 at that the back of my storage. The only thing it needs is the jamming of the wipers sorted to put it back on the road.

Needs the dashboard taken out. Oh well another one for the do do do list…………

Today is my first day driving the Citroen C6 2.7 Lignage. Only a local drive to get a spare wheel rim for the Manta, but enough to tell me I like it. It was the first time I have driven a C6.

It is so smooth and quiet it is hard to judge speed after driving driving my usual cars like the Mini, Morris 1300 and Manta. The heads up display is great for keeping an eye on speed before I learn to use the speed limiter.
