While I was at the FoD messing about with the green Range Rover Colin and Geoff were fitting a new water pump to my Mini. Trouble was they found the water loss was not only the water pump but the radiator as well. A second hand radiator is now fitted and seems to be dry.

While test driving the Mini they had a puncture and the spare is flat! I need 4 new tyres.

I really like the aluminum 2 core one that’s now fitted to mine, gives me much more confidence than the original one.

I should have bet on a horse today as my luck was in!

@ianbmw found me a little time to have a go at unlocking the engine on my Mitsubishi Sigma and has succeeded. He took one head off and got it moving without have to tackle the difficult rear head. It was a build up of corrosion from when it was sitting. I have ordered a new gasket for and the plan is Friday to get it going.

A used radiator from Colin for £40.

Yokohamas A539's are not available in 10 inch, I will take what ever I can find without paying the £109 I was quoted today for a classic tyre!

Aaah that’s a shame. Falken FK07E seems to be the best option available. All other options are priced similarly, around £70/corner.
I switched to 12s amongst other things for tyre availability.

Blast a load of light oil over the exposed cylinders if head is not on yet, wd40 or similar to stop flash corrosion.

I bought a set of 12 inch Minilights, but Colin is dead against me fitting them as my car is so original showing just 33,000 miles. I get his point.

Yes we did that.

The plan is to put it back together Friday if the parts arrive.

on a more serious note, does the place REV/Dolly's tyres come from still do them? I think it was @Slowsilver's local place? they where a reasonable price and a decent Falken all the same

Colin phoned them and they say they can no longer supply 145 80 r10 in spite of their web site listing them.

Falken don't seem easy to get and the only budgets are Nankang. I fitted Nankang to my Citroen GS and don't like them. The prices have become ridiculous for these specialist tyres! Yesterday I was quotes £109 each.

Nankang TR-10s are a very reasonable 145 80 R10 tyre and only about £40 per boot (supplied not fitted). I fitted them to my Reliant

I would need wider rims to go with them and we are trying to keep it standard, plastic wheels covers and all.

hmm yeah having had a look myself I see what you mean! with a bit of sleuthing I found these Falken's listed for £67 a pop, but on a "4-8 day lead time" maybe worth giving the company a call to see if they can actually still get em?

Trouble is we have just bought a pair of 195 65 r15 for our Mercedes Estate and they were £62 for the pair!

Cheapest I can find is £45 and then it is for a brand I have been disappointed with. Mini tyres are outrageously expensive.

If you fancy period correct the Camac BN313 is back in production too. That's about £70 a tyre though.

Honestly there's not much budget left at 10" now that isn't a trailer tyre. The TR10 is the cheapest thing out there that I've found and I buy tyres semi regularly for various Minis. Minispares have them for a tickle over £40 each. I paid £35 cash at a show at the start of the year. They're down in Potters bar so collection isn't too far from the MK area to avoid postage.

I have found moving up to 165 profile gives more offering but the price is still comparatively expensive for the size

ask @Zelandeth if he still has the 15 inch Daimler rims that had 10 inch mini rims welded to the inside? some* clearance-ing of the bodywork might* be required...
