mat_the_cat Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I know exactly where that is, as I was once turned away at the restaurant for being too scruffy. The other side of the lake is a minor road with a ford, should you want some photo oppurtunities. Six-cylinder and BorniteIdentity 1 1

I hope you showed them a clean pair of heels through the twisties in TWC There is no petrol left in Wales for TWC, we used every drop. Bentley Continental R, Bentley T2, XJS V12, 2x Golf GTi 16V and original 4x4. Honda S2000 and MGB with 2.0 Ocelli fast road engine for more petrol use. We call ourselves the Saga Louts, there were 8 of us on this trip and some I have know for 40 years. Fantastic weekend of driving and beer. The Bentley Continental R may look OTT for this trip but it is owned by a real car guy who likes most things and many of my non owned experiences I have have been in his cars over the last 40 years. The plan was for him to bring his newly purchased Bentley T1 but a shock absorber fell off on the way and started to drag on the ground so he abandoned that and got a lift home to get out the Continental R. worldofceri, Wibble, LightBulbFun and 4 others 7

The friend leading us in the XJS was using a bikers route app to set the route. Maybe I should leave the app bad feedback for it not taking us via Ice-cream!

Six-cylinder Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 I arranged for a chauffeur driven Mondeo MK1 today and where better place to go than our storage. The plan was to fit the new wipers, fit a temporary rev counter, refit the carpets and refit the luggage rack to the Rolls Royce 20/25. We started with a failure. The wiper spindles are ¼ inch (6.13mm measured), I bought new wiper arms for ¼ inch fittings and they would not fit on. I have now taken the new arms home and measured the internal diameter at only 5.76mm. We had tried to ease the clamp open but it was too solid to open with a screwdriver so I will open the hole up in the clamping block and try refitting it another day. I thought we would just pop the carpets back in it but that turned out to be a game and a half. The rear carpet fits under the front seats and wriggling them into place was a lot harder than I thought. I had lifted the carpets over the winter because water leaks in. We did succeed in the end and get them back in. The next failure was fitting the luggage rack as I thought it was in storage and it turned out it was at the house so that is now a job for another day. By this time we had witnessed a hail storm and @Slowsilver said he was cold enough so we left fitting the new digital rev counter for another day. I think this lady was admiring Slowsilver's car. Sunday the plan is to take the Rolls Royce to a local Classic Car Breakfast meeting at Preston Bissett Nurseries. Wibble, Popsicle, Vantman and 3 others 4 2
