AnthonyG Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 This arrived today in a stack purchased on EBay: Will bring it along on Saturday. They like the Super! Visa. The CX buyers guide, published a mere 5 years after its debut over here, mentions ‘Early cars will be rusting in several places if they have not been looked after’ 😐. Not much better than the GS then. Six-cylinder, brownnova, egg and 3 others 6

Not much better than the GS then. I saw the new Fuego at the Oct 1980 Motor show and liked it so much Jan 1981 I tried to buy one. I wanted a 2.0 TX which did not have a luggage cover so I asked the dealer to throw one in, but they wouldn't so I didn't buy the car, saved me £1000s in depreciation not buying it! egg, richardmorris and AnthonyG 2 1

High Jetter Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 The Fuego was really something else, when launched. Stunning car.

Can you hear the fuel pump do its thing with the ignition on? I think I needed to whack it with a rubber mallet and wiggle the wires on a few occasions. Also, it might be worth topping up the dashpot before stripping the carb. I never did figure out which of the above actions (temporarily) cured the misfire. Probably the former. Six-cylinder 1

This brings back memories from the 70s. I had to do that to the SU pump in my Morris 1000 several times to get back home from longish journeys before I got around to dismantling it. The contacts had burned stopping it, and the valves were filthy, stopping them closing properly. Cleaned all components, problems gone ! RobT 1

Zelandeth Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Will bring along my pressure washer. Not needing a power supply and having a 30 metre hose to play with should hopefully make the lives of anyone wanting to do cleaning tasks a bit easier. The question is how brave do I feel? Do I attempt to bring the Rover... richardmorris, wuvvum, mat_the_cat and 4 others 7

Do I attempt to bring the Rover... That looks fun! I'll have my toy nilfisk mostly because it seems safer for blasting the mini carpet, I have my new short lance to play with (standard quick connect if your one is the same?) and the foam gun. But up the top of the paddock to de-green stuff that's going to win 😂👌
beko1987 Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Of course it starts raining as I think of getting dressed and getting the car packed 🙄 hairnet 1

Peter C Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Due to unfavourable weather conditions, the Sierra and I will not be making an appearance at FoD. Apologies for being lame.
