Popular in the States those, as a first car. Quite like the styling and yaris/corolla bits underneath so pretty dependable presumably.

I suppose it was a publicity stunt of some sort...

IIRC, 3 wheelers were not allowed at the London Motor Show, so this was Reliant's way of getting a Bond Bug in there.

Not a Bug, an Earnshaw Diamond in full Autocar Exclusive camouflage. 🤣

There seems to be some sort of remote control box in one of the shots; perhaps it's possible to fire one up and 'drive' it in some fashion manually?  Otherwise they would be entirely immobile, the driverless systems having been decommissioned, and useless.

Yes, you can drive them manually.

Are those 'Starpods' the same as the ones in use at Heathrow T5's 'Pod Parking'?

They run on a designated track between the terminal and the car park.

^ And here's how I know. Sadly I only spent a day with the pods, and never got to drive one myself.

Sure looks like them, although the Greenwich trial suggests that particular vehicle is capable of rather more than the Heathrow shuttle function, which appears to be as a sort of trackless tram.

Annoyingly I can't remember too much of how they work, but I do remember that they have sensors that detect the edge of the track and turn the wheels to suit.

There is a MG Hector as well, again for the Indian market.

The ‘Gloster’ would probably sell OK in darker corners of the South West. ‘Available from select dealers in the Forest of Dean only’

late 60's Chevy Sportvan

The earlier one is more familiar, still not a common sight even in old films etc though

Shame on me, but I only found out a few months ago about the 1922-31 Lancia Lambda.

https://www.supercars.net/blog/1922-lancia-lambda/

"The Lambda was one of the most innovative cars of the twenties with its chassis, independant suspension and compact engine. It was the first to feature a load-bearing monocoque body which adopted by almost every manufacturer thirty years later."
