Lord Sterling Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I thought I'd start this thread as I'm sort of working with a bloke called Steve "Tin Worm" Tolkien. Yes, he is related to JRR Tolkien. He is a small, scruffy looking, eccentric fellow but endearingly welcoming and actually gives a shit about keeping old tat alive. 2 shiters on here, Vul_to_tha_galour and el_Kapitain_Slow have met Steve before. By rights, the lad should be on here but isn't as he "can't be arsed" with computers. He has taken on so much stuff that he hardly has time anymore. Since I met him a couple of years ago, he has pretty much constantly bombarded me with this business idea that I could sell cars on his behalf and 'share the profits' as it were, he seems to think that he can bring the "entrepreneurial" spirit out of me, I disgree, I'm just lazy and like to see quick money. Since fuck all else seems to be working I decided to put my collective arse into gear and actually start advertising stuff for him. He seems to think that CarAndClassic isn't a big enough audience and suggested I could advertise on forums. With that, I've seen that some shiters might get bored of their current steed and move things on or are looking for cheap transport/parts for their obscure tat. It's taken me getting off my arse to do this. If it works, great, if not, no worries, at least I tried. Anyhow, to give you an idea of what he has in store, I thought I'd share some pics: Parts: he has bloody thousands, here is a small selection... I've not got around to listing these yet as there is simply too much here. He has more elsewhere too. A small selection of cars from his HUGE collection: Cars for sale, advertised by me on CarAndClassic.co.uk: Rover 45 Diesel (2001) £600 Rover 45 (2000) £500 (not pic of actual car, soz) MG ZR 1.4 (2002) £700 MG ZS 1.8 Petrol (2003) £800 MG ZT 2.5 V6 auto (2002) £800 Rover 214 SEi (1995) £550 Rover 214 Cabriolet £500 Fiat Punto 1.2 (2002) £400 - This is VERY TATTY. Not nice. Ford KA 1.3 petrol (2003) £400 Peugeot 206 Commercial 1.9 Diesel £750 Citroen Saxo 1.0 (1997) £495 Feel free to point, laugh, criticise the prices/cars. They are not my cars and I didn't set the prices. If they sell, I get a percentage. End of really. I don't really expect anything to sell on here, but something right might just come up at the right price/time for someone here, so I'll going to keep on updating this thread from time to time with his cars that he has for sale at the time. If you are interested in purchasing any cars/parts, Steve can be contacted on O7974 I39 5S5. He isn't really the type to negotiate or take silly low offers. scruff, Wackeldackel, DVee8 and 5 others 8
Lord Sterling Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 Oh yeah, another thing to mention - Steve never really bothers to clean cars, you'll probably find more ground stones in the footwell than you would on the actual ground, he likes to leave his cars looking "au naturel" as he put it. That said, it isn't like they wouldn't clean up well themselves. Squire_Dawson and Partridge 2
dave21478 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Damned if I can remember who, but someone on here recently was looking for a small-ish car derived van. Lord Sterling 1
vulgalour Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 This is the guy I bought the Ledbury from and, apart from it being a Ledbury, it was FLAWLESS mechanically. Steve was really honest about any flaws the car had and I felt comfortable parting with cash. He's also super approachable and friendly and I, to my shame, have never found the time to get over and say hello as I promised I would. You could do a lot worse than buying a car from Tin Worm. eddyramrod, Charlie Croker, Shep Shepherd and 1 other 4
Shep Shepherd Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I like the Nightfire Red 214 SEi RobT, KruJoe and Lord Sterling 3
Angrydicky Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Is there any chance he has a N/S/R door, heater matrix and pipes, or front indicators for a Maestro in decent condition? Lord Sterling 1
Twiggy Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Fantastic idea Lord S ! Hope it takes off. Lord Sterling 1

But he knows his cars, he knows what he has put into them and thier flaws and he will point them out. I like the Nightfire Red 214 SEi You should do, it's a real hunny. I could honestly see it as a daily driver for me given the cash flow. I really need an Rover "R8" 200 in my life. I'm still kicking myself over Red one I tried to save a couple of years back from Vulgalour's brother. Is there any chance he has a N/S/R door, heater matrix and pipes, or front indicators for a Maestro in decent condition? Most probably, I'll ask him tomorrow and get back to you. Angrydicky 1
Angrydicky Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 That would be great, thanks! Lord Sterling 1
RoadworkUK Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Wowsers. Well, my 800 wants for absolutely nothing (unless an immaculate beige leather interior or set of 'prestige' 16"s was knocking about). Hasn't got an A/C compressor for an Audi AEB 1.8T has he? Thought not. Good luck with this; gr11 idea. Lord Sterling 1
purplebargeken Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 That V6 MG looks bloody good. Damn. Lord Sterling 1

Shep Shepherd Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 ^I had a Caribbean Blue 1994 214 Si. Great car until the lacquer started to peel off its roof in great swathes; I scrapped it in 2004 in disgust not long after I bought The Volvo...
Lord Sterling Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 Hasn't got an A/C compressor for an Audi AEB 1.8T has he?He might have, he did break up an Audi A4 recently and has all the parts on the shelf, I shall ask. He has no 800 parts sadly, if he does, they usually go to me. RoadworkUK 1
Lord Sterling Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 Does he have and mk1 or 2 fiesta bits?I don't think he does, but on the same industrial estate there is a bloke who has a unit who restores old Fords. Whilst I was there on Saturday, I spotted an old S-reg 1300S Fiesta who was looking for the blokes unit. I could ask there if you send me a list of what you need.
