The blue one boasts the ideal* combination of the luxury of GL trim with the economy of the 2.3 diesel engine!

Shame it looks like it was just dragged out of a lake.

Jensen FF for a very generous* £195000...

After the big classic car boom and bust a mate of mine bought one for 5 grand on which the seller who desperately needed money had 55k worth of finance. Mate then struggled to make a profit on it. I did think about buying it off him but wasn't allowed*

Always fancied a motorcome conversation.

The bloke does look chatty, to be fair.

I paid £6000 for the bus and spent £4500 on the body and paint unfortunately.  “

Unfortunate indeed, they seem to have nicked the front end…

ALWAYS have the 'serious investment' on something that is probably overpriced. Also the tyre name :D

I had a red one like that. A GT XL something or other. Paid £300 for it and about three years later sold it for £25 as it was rotten as a pear.

Avery uninspiring car, and even in new condition Im bewildered why anyone would pay anything like that kind of money for one.

Rose coloured specs are a dangerous thing.

Not autoshite but flip me £8,500 for a 10 year old Japanese supermini. Low mileage and decent spec though.

Seems to be the way of the world right now.
Ive been scouring the internet looking at cars because the Polo will need work with the sparkly stick and a lot of bits replacing for the next MOT (June) plus it smokes like a beagle when clogged.

Mentally I had thought a budget of £1500 for a usable shitter that would give me a couple of years, but this seems unrealistic after scouring eBay & Autotrader.

No MOT though, so if you get stopped on the way home they’ll throw the book at you.

I'm pretty sure, you'll need a building surveyor not an MOT inspector.

  Its built like a brick.

On the plus side

Low miles, Facelift model, Skyactive G-SPORT.  Such a sensible alternative to an unreliable fiesta ecoboost.

On the negative side.

Manual gearbox (the 6 speed auto has flappy paddles), the colour (so boring) and The rust you can't see. (Its a mazda. They rust)

Its priced as if it were an auto (they command MUCH higher prices)  We paid £12.5k a year ago for a 69 plate auto with just 10K on the clock.  There were 3 or 4 within travelling distance that were autos and 100s that were manual.

I don't haunt this thread very much, but I've just seen this on Facebook.  The pics are fine and live up to expectations for a 1965 Ford Galaxie at this price... until you read the text...

65 Galaxie fastback, 352 fe holley 4bbl auto, new crank, shells oil pump and chain. Solid as a rock, new boot floor, sills, lower 1/4's, all original, never welded. All new braking system, front wheel bearings, new black interior, carpets, headliner going in this week, refurbed wheels, nice straight bumpers. Replacement screen fitted and resealed. Older repaint in gloss black, still shines up nice, arrow straight panels.  Offers around £18k.  Located Chelmsford Essex.  Delivery availible, at cost.

And to nitpick:

Solid as a rock, new boot floor, sills, lower 1/4's.  OK nice, but then...

all original, never welded.   Make your fucking mind up!  The rest of the text quite clearly tells us that a big percentage of the entire car has been renewed and is therefore NOT original; and if there's a new boot floor, sills, lower 1/4's.  but it's never welded.  then wtf is holding all this non-original panelwork in place?

Also, learn how to spell available.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry over his butchery of English, but I do know that even if I was looking for such a Galaxie and had that kind of money spare, his is one I would never buy.

I don't think that's too bad. Partner's daughter has just paid £8k for a 2016 vauxhall adam 1.4 pex with 35K on it. One owner, full history and top spec though.

Against all my fucking advice and a hundred answered questions too I must add.
