LUXURY

It's a coal burner with working class gearbox.

MAY BE THE BEST IN THE UK

How many examples compete for this attribute in the UK?

made to compete with Mercedes and BMW, in the luxury car sector.

And lost woefully.

can only rise in value

Classified Ad price: £4,500.00

No idea what the 85 reg is all about as most of what I can see is 1990s

DVLA says
Cylinder capacity (cc):3528 cc
Fuel type:PETROL
Vehicle colour:BROWN

cant imagine that the dash is very forgiving should it all go medieval at the pay and play site :D

but my best bit "I have only driven it around the field as I carn,t get in the seat."

Mot runs out next week

Verdict = fishier than a fish pie for a Good Friday supper in Grimsby

Not convinced anyone who thinks a Range Rover interior and those chuffing "tables" would look good in the main living area of the house, has a "Mrs" to worry about.

Aye, looks nuff classic M9. £99 starting bid...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caliber-classic-car-radio-/172988856995

It's part of Caliber's 'Retro Look' range.  It's supposed to look like that.  I think they ok in old dashboards, were reviewed well at £150, now down to £110 through box shifters such as Amazon.  I'd have one over some modern thing that grates when you look at it

CHROME-CAR-RADIO-for-MERCEDES-W108-W109.

I'm not saying it looks lush though, but better than some

Yes, he does suggest Man Cave.  And that's where it will end up.

Let's face it, £200 is nothing like what gets asked by hipster artisans for their 'upcycled' contraptions.  Some are up for thousands!

I'm sure any Range Rover breaker would be asking that sort of money for a similar set anyhow

I was going to do this with the leather rear bench from my old R8 rover. For the conservatory, obviously.

'Like to think it will make £2500'

Do you now? That's why you've had to list it six times you fool. It's £350 tops because it's a fucked old E23 that's sat up to the axles in grass, a minging rusty green shitbox with a minging green interior, a shit example of a car that wasn't that great when new. The only thing of any value was the number plate and you've already had that.

This, to my mind, is the definition of the opposite of Autoshite. So, perhaps I should put this in the What are we about thread.

Anyway, a car that has never been particularly popular, plundered and uncared for, then someone has the audacity to try and flog it as if it's The Great Train Robbers Cortina.

Joloke sent me this, apparently she knows the previous owner and this bloke is taking the liquified human waste.  It hasn't even got a ticket!  Shall we all message him with derisory offers?  It's probably worth about 800 notes as-is.

Well, each to their own; to me that is a modern thing that grates when you look at it!

I spend 7 hours a week on one of these and by the time they are defleeted they are utterly shafted.

Bargain. The 60 plate ones I’ve seen tend to have more like 1,200,000 on the clock.

Made even worse by the stories I’ve heard about the kind of faults the 67 plate ones have on delivery :D

Posted

You seen how much the roof flexes when they go over bumps in the road? It's alarming, and feck knows how that thing would pass the roll over test, as they seem to have the structural integrity of a damp paper bag

Posted

I think the worst thing I know about them is that the most recent batch to my local operator had 5/6 duff gearboxes, 3/6 leaks from the top of the windscreen and 1/6 flushing the toilet every time the brakes were applied!

Nice way to spend a few million quid.

I think many are on lease, and lots are coming off lease and passing to dealers too, built down to a price, and hammered into the ground, with many rarely being at base for maintainence

Doesn’t surprise me. How do NX actually make any money? I pay £11 a week for a 240 mile round trip and most people I meet do the same.

My other half pays about the same to do 3 miles a day on the local buses.

The only market I can see for these horrible Caetano things are for companies that are hugely concerned about the DDA - NX have built them 100% around their legal obligations to disabled passengers.

Posted

My last NX trip cost me £55 return, (Ipswich to Welshpool) which involved a change of coaches in Brum, with 2 NX contractors involved, Selwyns of Runcorn part of RATP for the Ip Brum section, and Nat Ex Birmingham for the Welshpool leg, coaches were near full both ways, the Selwyns coach was shagged, with the power sockets not working, coach was 62 plate, NX Brum coach was newer and even had a monitor displaying the front CCTV cam. Drivers were lethal though, and timings are clearly impossible

Posted

Bennett’s (Gloucester) and Yeomans (Hereford) run the two services I travel on - both now have immaculate 67 plate coaches (4 and 6 wheelers respectively) and 80% of the drivers actually know how to - the 20% work for the latter.

What about Megabus, a read of them in Trustpilot makes entertaining reading! People I’ve known who have been on it say it’s frightening.
