There's a Veilside Celica not too far from me.

I can never look at one without seeing the smiley face on the front quarter

Fair play to them for trying

I'm sure Asda, PC World etc and all other businesses sell everything at cost price... ☺

I don't get why people get all mad when they see someone's made some money on a car or whatever. If I'd sold it and was happy with what I got for it id say good luck if the next guy makes a few quid on it.

About ten years ago, I bought a beige Badermatic KP61 out of the local paper for 150 quid.  It was nearly out of T&T but ran well.  I rode it around for a while then stuck it on eBay, where it made 350 quid.  I thought I'd done really well at the time...

Yes, they're usually towed behind A frames, maybe A frames are quite hard on tyres over thousands of miles.

That motorhome is a bit too Peter Stringfellow for me, the last thing I want are so many mirrors in the bathroom that I can watch myself having a poo.

Any bog with a mirrored wall behind it is just weird.

Asda have a massive national logistics network that allows thousands of people to buy a single pint of fresh milk off them from a shop just a few miles from their home for a matter of a few pence. They don't buy a pint of milk at public auction then immediately offer it untouched for 3 times the price.

True, but then again it's better than bullying small businesses so their profits can be even larger.

You have got to be having a fucking bubble!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Series-One-Diesel-88-CHASSIS-NUMBER-ONE-1957-first-one-off-production-/231831870957

I mean talk about fucking tenuous desperation!

This vehicle is one from my Landrover collection and is one of interest! It is the first one off the production line in January 1957.

Therefore it is actually the first ever, production Short Wheelbase Diesel Landrover. You have just seen the last one come out of the factory. Now the first one is for sale too!

200 Bags

No you read that right 200 fucking grand

Hang on, the advert seems to suggest that the engine isn't original, and neither is the bodywork? And parts of the chassis need repairing too.

So you're going to spend more on a shitty old 4x4 than you would a house, and it's going to end up 95% new parts once you've spent even more money.

Just fucking donate it to a museum and let them display it as is.

He's actually a nice chap, he lives by me.

But that price is ridiculous, I don't think his phone will be ringing. He's got plenty of cash anyway.

At todays exchange rate this is for sale for 30,925 GBP (just under THIRTY ONE THOUSAND Pounds). It is, we are assured a "safe investment" and that finance can be arranged....a good thing I think.

Actually..for reference these were over 80,000GBP when sold new in DK...so maybe its not such a bad price

TBH, if I owned Land Rover #1 I'd probably lob it up for a daft price too, can't blame him for trying.

I think I'd be more furious at the world if someone paid it. It'll never be a truck that you use for lobbing a dead sheep in the back, or bumping over farmland in the middle of winter, it'll just be restored and squirreled away in a collection but nowhere like Gaydon is ever going to shell out that money so it'll be never seen again until it comes up in an auction for £300,000

And somebody actually bought one???  Fuck me!!!

I'm sure that in the small print it includes a gold ingot of considerable size... Either that or whoever posted the ad had a bit of a shake on and double tapped the 2 at the start of the price!
