He actually seems to think that's a manual for all cars, 1973-1979.... nowhere in the listing does it mention Peugeot or 104.

Which might make it worth £30.... and about twelvty billion pages thick (with lies).

Let's put another spin on this:-

SWMBO:"Did you put that old car manual on eBay?"

Reply:"Yes dear, but it didn't sell."

Probably straight on the slow-boat to Mombassa. what I want to know is just how much all these old toyota's & nissan fetch once they actually reach africa, because alot seem to sell for alot more than they ought to here, then there's the shipping,....

Yeah i've often wondered about that, the exporters buy EVERY old pug 505 estate on the bay and they are quite happy to pay four figures for em. What must they be getting at the other end I wonder?

I once read about old Starlets (say 1500 euros in Holland) going for 3000 or more in Africa, which I would imagine would be the annual salary of a whloe village combined over there, but who needs food etc when you can drive a car?

Cars have a much higher value in South Africa as well... The place is still awash with RHD mk4 Cortina 3.0S's and the mk5 XR6.. I'd love to get my hands on one of those, but they can sell for £4k plus easily over there

If he spent whatever it was he wasted lowering it on fixing the rust that would be quite a nice car. Even then, if I was spending FIVE AND A HALF GRAND on a car I'd kind of like it to have a MOT. But that's just me...

It's just a rusty old Golf. For the same money I reckon I could probably do better.

Edit: for example £5500 buys this...

The price does include a new MOT.

Back in '94 - straight out of Uni - I headed over to Zimbabwe to visit some African chums of mine. They'd bought cars in Scotland and had them shipped back as they were so much cheaper and as they'd been using them didn't have to pay any import duties as far as I remember.Well...and here's the interesting bit.We started up a company (I'm probably still a director today) to import cars from the UK.The master plan was to buy up all the cheap Peugeot 405's - at the time you could find one for around 1500 quid. Now this is where it gets very interesting...you could sell them on for around 10,000 quid in Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, my African "brothers", although extremely intelligent, didn't really have a grasp of "time", and hence another Golden Opportunity was dashed...Looking at how things turned out in Zimbabwe today, it was probably for the best as I had a great time out there

I've just done a quick calc on that, at current exchange rates it equals 53p, so no need to panic.

For some reason nice 800 coupes hold their value really well.

I've made a few realistic offers - not the ones below - on this appalling heap, but the owner just won't budge

This item is relisted if you made me an offer before please dont bother again previous offers of 0.01p , 50p £100.00 is not enough, i dont need to sell the vehicle and i dont need the money.!

If he doesn't need the money, why not just accept one of the offers?

40,000 NZ$ - I have no idea how much that is, but I have been looking at jobs in Auckland (cos I am fed up with it here) which pay $60k, so I am guessing Farmer Brown is living in cuckoo land...

Series 1 107 inch station wagon is quite rare.Mined ewe, it's as ugly as sin, even compared to other Land Rovers :?

That 107 REALLY is worth that much in the right hands, I have one in my dream garage, next to the AC Greyhound...........seriously honestly RARE in any condition, so not off the mark by much.

1988 Nissan Sunny 1.3 LS

Anyone fancy this Sunny? It is absolutely mint. And so it should be for £2995!

Blooming eck that pitches my Sunny with 30k at £1500 by my rekoning. And mines the more desirable hatch in the currently trendy colour of Cow shed white.

Any takers? no thought not...

Not run for 6 years, holes in the sills, dents in the wing, flat tyres, no MOT (natch), missing a bumper end cap, and it's not even a 1.3 or 1.4. Of course, it must be worth £550 starting bid. Or am I missing something?

CIGARETTE LIGHTER & ASH TRAY NOT USED

Oh, that justifies the price then.
