michiel
The 'sold' Maxi at Percival has been advertised in Holland by a similar expensive car dealer for years now... I wonder when it was actually sold, and why it's still on their site? http://www.hansbezemer.nl/autos/autos/Austin/maxi.html
Torsten2001
Mr_Bo11ox summed up that 242 nicely on R-R I think - rarity does not a high-value Volvo make (although Torsten may well correct me here). I can only see it appealing to minted Volvo pervs or classic rallyists meself.I would not give you £50 for it, it's a rusty shed with the wrong front end and no engine! I read in the money section of the paper today that Ireland's economy is almost as shafted as Iceland's. Its clear why - cumulative effect of years of paying megabucks for old toyotas innit. Sellers got zero feedback like, could be shilling it up.

Richard
It's got no mirrors. What kind of dick would build a car that's going to do a lot of overtaking and not put at least a driver's door mirror on it?
pogweasel
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CUSTOM-CAR-1970-1 ... 0243873659 Ultimate LOL! These blerks are asking 'just' £795 for 160 issues of custom car. Never, eer going to happen. TBH I would give them £7.95. I've got piles of these old CC's, can't shift them for love nor money. They rarely make a quid a piece on the bay or at autojumble. Not a bad return on the investment then.Actually, that's too LATE to be a Beachcomber - though it may well have sat around unregistered for a year. The genuine ones are all A and B plate. Though I think there might be some on a Y having said that. It does have the correct narrow rear bumper - seeing one that's not wonky is impressive! As for investment - if it's had a total resto, that would add a lot to the £2000 original price! Looks nice though.
