Starting the ball rolling today I spottaged this...

954898_169350986586480_1833685541_n.jpgPresumably mini based but Ive never seen one before.

Did think about asking the chap sat in it, but he didnt seem happy I was snapping it.

Ugly as hell is what that is. Never surprises me re: the number of miserable sods around when you try and show an interest in their old jallopy.

RAC say that it is:

Make
REEFENGINEERING
Year of manufacture
1980

Model

Engine size(CC)

Thanks to the magic of Google - it is one of only 4 made Reef Engineering Cubs based on the Kitten Chassis.

Designed and built by John Crossthwaite who designed the Scimitar and Kitten Chassis.

Should that read "REEFER ENGINEERING"? It would explain it quite well.

Only 4 made?  Thank Christ for that.  Unless that means 4 completed and the other 100 sat languishing in gardens in bits after the enthusiasm/cash/wife left.

I just did a tiny bit of chunder in my mouth. I'm off to a less aesthetically challenging thread now.

That is the uglies thing I have ever seen! However I love the idea behind it. If you were to use a reliant scimitar chassis to build a hot rod, would it have to be IVA'd, as it's actually a rebody of a standard existing chassis.

That Heraldscort thing is awful! Just looks like some dimwit didn't understand the idea behind a cut and shut.

I am now the high bidder on a Reliant Kitten

Any idea what this is, we're in Dublin 1990. I sort of think it's an ARO, but I'm not sure.

Here's another, we're in Iraq. The car with the massive soup pans is a Volga, there's a KIA flat back in the background, but what's the little car scuttling away? The grilles suggest it's rear engined and there's 3 wheels, I'm sure that will help with the ID.

@martc  I can't precisely id he little orange three wheeler because I'm not up to speed on tuk-tuk/motorized rickshaw type vehicles.  I'd guess it was an early Indian Baja or similar.

Seems to be some sort of bastardised Lincoln Town Car. It's available for weddings and the website says it's the only one in the UK. Thank God for that.

It's a Lincoln Excaliber 5.0.

Don't know much else about them. Seems like the Americans took a Lincoln stretch, lopped off the back and front and stuck on some rendition of a 1930s car on the back and front.
