Not been on any of the bikes in a while, so had a short spin on the Honda the other day. It actually ran really well (must be to do with the colder weather) but after a few months lay up, it was the usual bastard to start. 

It still leaks fuel from the carb if you don't tighten the float bowl screws every sodding week, but will hopefully stop doing that if I ever get round to replacing the screws and/or using thread locker. REALLY must get round to taking it green-laning soon.

Took 3 of us to lift it on. It's our old bosses, he highsided it somehow pulling into a petrol station. He's done a couple of ribs but otherwise OK. Silly bugger hasn't ridden owt in years, that's been sat all this time.

Mine lives parallel to the garage doors because my SD1 takes up most of the garage. I have to lift it by the rear frame and drag it which is no good for my back or scrotum.

His son in law (big fucker) was with us, pivoted it on the sidestand and span it 360 degree. Can't imagine that being too good for the stand mind.

It’s easy and will do no harm, I’ve used that method to turn everything from Hayabusa’s and R1’s to GS1250 adventures around.

I spin my SV on the stand quite frequently. I'm neither big nor strong. 

Leverage and weight transfer are wonderful things.

Place I worked at doing bike MOTs used to do it, I refused and glad I did. I remember a very nice Ducati going down, then lying in a rapidly growing pool of oil. Snapped the alloy bracket clean in two.

Sidestand tricks a goodun. I do however own a gs1100 with a snapped one. Have never missed it in fairness as it has a great centre stand and I still vividly remember tipping it into a roundabout hearing a grinding noise and going straight straight straight. Thankfully there was recovery time given the slow entry so bringing it back upright and frantic leg swinging saved a dukes of hazard yeehaa moment over the roundabout. 

I never did fix the cut out switch on the stand or indeed stop swinging it around on the thing. Fault for this instance I out down to the many times it's been racheted down on cross channel ferries. Yeah that will be it.

Got reasonably good at foot peg  grinding on corners and roundabouts on my first bike (Honda C70) and watching sparks come off after the rubber had worn away.  All fun and games until it (foot peg) sort of dug into a  pot hole and I got catapulted off and bounced down the road.  Lost consciousness and my left arm looked like a braille library. It was a right laugh and I got an amazing sympathy shag out of my then girlfriend when I got back from hospital.

Perhaps a small caveat to say if someone deliberately pulls a wheelie off the side of Snowdon on a Hongdu Elephant Crazy LGBTQ+-G8 Summit 125 so they get some post-accident horizontal jogging action with their missus, then it's entirely at their own risk.

I can confirm this maethod doesnt always get you a good go in the jolleys department. 

I did the same on my fizzie when i was at college in front of a mini bus half full of females, none of them offered a pity/bravery shag

anything to do with the rear wheel/swingarm - all flat bmw twins eat bearings and seals - really unlucky it can kill the driveshaft

check if the abs is working if fitted throw it away if it is (fitted)

New tank for the gt185. Not sure if I like the black but beggars can’t be choosers. Found this one at a reasonable price. The original tank is beyond saving now I think, rampant rust inside.

Nothing wrong with a KH or KE, loved those, especially in 175 flavour.

I was talking about bikes in general with an old mate a couple of weeks ago, we were expressing the lack of range and choice of bike styles and sizes nowadays.

Look at any 1970's or 1980's even into the mid 90's bike manufacturer brochure, all styles and sizes and prices catered for. Its just not like that these days.

I know all Internal Combustion is doomed but bikes seem to be hardest hit, you simply have to buy what they now sell, its rubbish

The above KH has been used by my pal to commute as it's historic status means its ulez compliant. 

 Have always liked them for the funky induction and of course as they have the correct amount of strokes. 

Great colour scheme on that one too.

My 125 was a KH, but the one before this style like below. Had a wonderful cable disc! I liked them because everyone else didn’t 😀 I didn’t see the need for an RD or RG. I would have another.

Cables disc. Not many of those about hey. I'd imagine it could possibly work quite well. I also know that a good twin leading shoe drum can out perform some of the early hydro disc set ups. 

@andyberg I for one think you should get another.  The red one ain't moved in a while shall i ask my mate?

I would be tempted but as my Jazz has decided that it needs a new gearbox and I have a holiday next week fundage is seriously lacking I’m afraid 🙁
