Took me a while to track down where this was so sorry for the poor photo.  Heard something rattling away that had to be an 80s or 90s Ford.

I wasn't expecting this.

Can't remember when I last saw a black bumpered Escort of that generation.

Black bumpers, Valencia engine, no remote mirror adjustment, no rubbing strips, steel wheels...Base model maybe?  Rear wiper though?  Could have still been optioned I guess...

It resides in Ireland now, I'm considering making an offer on it but suspect it will be out of budget for me.

It was a pretty good van, originally a coachbuilt 'Newlander' campervan. Some friends toured Europe in it back in the day, then it was lain up for years. The camper body had the structural composition of wet weetabix, So was taken off. I then sold it/gave it to another friend who scored a pick up bed from a newish Toyota Dyna. Which is what it wears now.

It was on arounf 27,000 miles when I sold it.

Had a bit of an OLLI-day yesterday. The SI is a Belgian Minerva I've seen at several local shows but can any Landie expert tell me if the other one is a SII or SIIA? 1961 was the changeover year but I don't know how to tell the difference - all I've found is a mention of 'some cosmetic differences' with nothing to explain what they are.

Fully floating rear axle suggests IIA but the bitsa nature of LRs means you'd need the chassis number to be definitive.

I'm not gonna say where I was, I couldn't take a photo. So I tried street view and unfortunately it's old. On the plus side, bonus Panpan.

The silver mgtf has gone.

He has the yellow mgtf chromaflair. The purple chromaflair mgzt-t and he has a matching purple chromaflair mgtf.

Talk about living the dream.

I put this Junior D in another thread a while ago. Deserves a repost here I think.

That decor panel is something I've not seen in a long while.

I've been all over town on the bike and I think I've papped all the interesting stuff now, so have a dump of random things of interest.

I never used to like these but now I think they look great, especially in that colour. It's a 5-cylinder version too for extra win.

Sadly never saw it yet again as there was an embankment and a bunch of trees in the way...but that's the third or fourth time in the relatively recent past when I've heard something two stroke diesel powered howling along the road just outside our neighborhood.  I'd say straight six Detroit purely based on the noise.

In would really like to know what it is now!

Don't get too excited, I kept hearing a really tasty V6 going past my house and it was a barried up MK3 Mondeo.

Nice to see these two earlier while shopping. The Lexus was L registered and the oldest I've seen round here for a while but they're quite sought after for bangers. The 325 was with what could have been its original owner and sounded glorious. I will have another E30 one day..

Anyway of saving them from getting lifted and possibly crushed??

This man was explaining why there are road works in Buckingham in a video clip posted on "What Matters Buckingham". It took me a moment to realise why an H van without wheels was driving along!

I know you can buy fibreglass VW splitscreen bus ‘shells’. Is someone doing plastic H vans as well?

Meanwhile, an abandoned Mk.2 Golf has recently been dragged out of the front driveway of a house where it had been sitting for many years.

Left by the side of the road on the way to Brent Cross, looks like it's waiting for Barnet Council to come and remove it. Still,  hasn't stopped one hopeful would-be shiter from leaving a note....

Well, there will be less genuine H vans being converted now as this is a much cheaper option.
