We've been away on holiday in Wales, on a classic car rally. The hotel accommodates car clubs and the A.C. Car club were in attendance, which was interesting, as were several "other" spots; the Land Rover was looking somewhat unloved, as was the Minor....... Oh, and the 2CV was a really old one!

Llandrindod Wells seems to have slipped into a time warp, as this ancient garage frontage shows....

Apparently this place was a garage in the 1920s and it was from here that the first Ford model "T" in Wales was sold! It even has the arms that allowed the fuel pipes to swing out into the road to refuel cars. I can't imagine any garage having them now!

I had one from new in '98 and ran it for many years and loved it. Sadly like all of them it eventually succumbed to rampant rust.  Mine ended going back to CZ, probably for spares. I know that one at Bow Bridge Marina and once had a chat with lady who runs it. Despite its tatty look she seemed to be fond of it. Mine was S63 VKE so may have been from the same dealer.

Viva HC was lovely.

Lada was... non-factory, let's say.

Nova was very clean and original, right down to the dealer plates.

Carlton GSi looked decent too.

Datsun 280ZX and very late MGB.

Mk2F Polo very similar to one I owned; far from concours, but still in use.

Lastly, a Mk1 Transit diesel upgraded with a Mk3 velour interior and sporting what looked suspiciously like Mk IV Zodiac wheeltrims.

I just habitually fold them in case of drunk people smashing them. Maybe thats a bit of a Leeds city centre thing i cant quite shake off.
