I passed a house on the way from home to Hastings today (via Cranbrook and Hawkhurst from Pluckley way) that had several early 2000s MGs on the driveway in fair shape.  Anyone know anything?

Three from me:

first, where I park up when I'm visiting my friends with the mental neighbours, there was a 900 Carlsson:

then at Tesco on Sunday morning was this mintola giffer Cavalier - original dealer plates etc. I think my mum knows someone who's friends with the owner.

Then finally, here's a slightly better picture of the megashite Campagnola:

With added parking tickets.

And on the bus home.

Some well-used V8 goodness, in a Blue Badge bay.

The headlights and sidelights appeared to be switched on, for some reason...

And here we have a rare opportunity to see Sherpas in the wild, gathering at a waterhole.

Tiny car in Swanley.

Absolutely loved Swanley park as a kid.  Is the miniature railway still there?

Love to have a go in a 126, too.  Although I doubt I'd fit...

I think so it was there a couple of years back.

Three large peeps got out of it.

Amazing.

I used to work in Swanley.  Two days a week.  What a place...!

Swanley is a bit grim.

I went out to a nearly new Sprinter at a house there once with a loss of power and noisey exhaust only to find someone had carefully cut its DPF off in broad day light.

The park is the best thing about Swanley IMHO.

Anyway, two extremes from me.

Visited my old house that I used to live at in 2004 today. Still living the shite dream I see.

Tesco car park, Folkestone.  Caught the driver's eye, who waved at me and then got out as I was putting the shopping in my car.

Was a lovely young lady, painter/decorator (I think) who gave me a full run-down on the car.  Turns out her partner has a Mk1 Cabriolet.  She bought it for £450 last May from a retired chap, who was the second owner.  44,000ish on the clock and absolutely bone stock.  She's worked on the sills and a few bits and put in a 90s Mk3 1.3 engine but other than that it's factory.  A particularly attractive shade of Autoshite Beige.  In fact, it's a very close match on my screen...

Particularly amusingly, she told me that she'd driven it to Wales at one point with all her mates in newer (PCP-style) moderns, 4x4s, BMW 1 Series, etc. and her car was one of only a couple that hadn't had any faults the whole way.

Really nice spot, lovely owner.  Made a shit afternoon really quite pleasant in the end.

But it's got a new engine, so technically it is a modern...

90s engine.  Not a modern in my view!  She's still got the 1L somewhere I think but was doing motorway miles in it...

90s is definitely modern but each to their own and all that.

It's the 'cars that I remember growing up thing', methinks.

In another twist of fate, I'd never heard of WiLL before this week (see my post a few days ago) and here I go, in Whitstable, parking up next to a different model this evening.  Huzzah!

I stumbled upon this totally mint Holden VK Commodore today:

The picture doesn't do it justice, it was immaculate. Calling it showroom fresh would be an insult.

That has been sitting there for years, I beleive it has featured in this thread before (or maybe the abandoned car thread?)

Not much chod around here but this is a close as it gets. Quite a trek from New Jersey down here to the Florida Keys! Felt like a lifetime at 55 just from Miami. Back to Canada next week where I plan to snap the Volvo 780 for sale on Barton street.

Belongs to the guy supplying my steelwork for this project. Rich as fuck, but smokes around in this anyway. That may have influenced me giving him the order.

There an exhaust pipe poking out of the front of this CA so presumably its 'fridge isn't driven from the main engine anymore.

In my 99-buying days this would have most likely been a small Perkins and the van would have been surrounded by a dieselly haze. Modern Ice-cream just doesn't taste right without it.
