Barrow Wheels: RESURRECTION!

I may be able to help with the transport of this on my trailer within reason, if it helps find it a good home.

That home won't be here though, for so many reasons!

Now this looks HAWT

That's because it is!

If I had any money you'd be reading about it in a collection thread, not my spots thread.  But I haven't, so please, someone, step up, it's a beautiful little car that's been giffered around town for at least five years.  These things are brilliant, we had one years ago.  I want this.  But I can't have it.

A crowdfunded Proton?  Now there is a supremely kind gesture!  Thank you sir!

However... my fleet is at optimum level now, with three, and all my parking is on-street, so even getting round the wife wouldn't get me round the neighbours.

Anyone want to buy a Rover?

Very generous of you, gentlemen, but before we all get carried away, I should mention that I've had a PM about the car.  Someone here wants to keep his powder dry, as it were, but he seems very interested.

It's only been two and a half years...

Scirocco was at Grange the other week; doesn't look like it moves...

...Sorry, VX 4/90!

Spotting slows down a bit when you're not getting out-and-about!

I don't think so but it won't be difficult to get some when we're allowed out again.  It's one of the permanent exhibits at the Lakeland Motor Museum.  When we can, let's have another Eddyfest there and you can study it in detail.  You're within reach, IIRC?

Tidy MGB lives round the corner from me, and despite having a garage, he uses it, all year.  Good man!  I love that it has hubcaps too, so many are converted to wires.

Literally a few yards away, and facing left rather than right, we have this.  This house has been empty all the time I've been here, so that's a minimum of 8 years, and when I first saw it, it didn't look freshly-abandoned.  It was already "aged."  I've been wondering for years what treasure lurked in that garage - Anglia van maybe? - but now that the door's fallen in I can see.  Nothing to get excited about.

Not the best pic I've ever taken!  Morris pickup belongs to a local tyre shop, where I do occasionally spot interesting motors.

My 850 and my neighbour's V40.  Neither of us lives on this corner, we're opposite each other halfway down the street, but you park where you can, don't you?  At least mine is in the correct street!

Loving the minor pickup. Also the 850 volvo, my dad had a 740 gle estate many years ago which was really unreliable so he sold it as spares repairs. Now I am starting to really hanker after one. I have no need for one but really want one.

Yes m8! I haven't moved SuzziQ at all over the holidays.... as [not so likely atm] visitors for over the holidays arrive in our street, park in a 'spot' (like mine) and stay for 4 days. That means I have to park round the corner.... Not Good 😕

Parking bang on the corner?  That's normal round here.

I just thought I would make you aware in case the local council decided to do a bit of revenue farming by going around issuing tickets. Not to mention the safety aspect which is why the rule is law.

Abandoned Autos, Tracey speaking, how can I help you?

Hello, I need to find a couple of cars... something cheap and disposable, and one for the wife to take the kid to school in.

Yes sir, I have just the thing...

Both of these are within yards of my house (and neither has moved since first appearing before Christmas).  The neighbourhood is going downhill, I tell ye...

Yes, the 190 taxi!  I got it!  B&Q today.

It's still working! Or at least was a few months ago.

Apparently it was run by an owner-driver, and he died fairly recently.  I don't know what happened to the car, I haven't seen it around for a while.

Barrow has some slightly off-the-wall taxis, including a Jag X350 on a private plate, which replaced a V8 S-type on the same plate.

Sad news about the driver, I've had a few trips to Barrow over the years and spotting this plying its trade was always a highlight

And in a further Stop Press, the Connect has moved... round the corner into an actual street rather than the alley.  It's now parked on-road but doesn't seem to get out-and-about.

May be an image of text that says "TAXI E532 ELN"

There's a lovely photo of it on FB from July of last year.  The page is called "Little Tony's Tyres" (!)

These pre-face lift 190s without the sacco panels and with the uncomfortable seats are now quite a rare sight, sadly.  I think they're absolutely smashing.

I must look on Little Tony's page - they've rebuilt the K Series in the kit car some pals are driving to Benidorm this summer on a cheap car rally.
