I think that mon-fucking-strosity lives in Preston somewhere, and as the badge suggests the chassis is based on an LDV van.

I don't even want to know any more about it.

Looks to be a spectacularly quarter-assed stab at the Barris Kustoms-built 'Munster Koach', commissioned for the TV show 'The Munsters'.

You can bet that when it inevitably ends up on eBay with no bids and a Buy It Now of £HFM?, it'll be described as 'steampunk'.

It’s not just a hearse. See those pipes halfway along next to the coffin carrying part? Mobile crematorium!

I wouldn’t be seen dead in that.

That is utterly fucking ghastly.

The Leyland DAF badge slapped on the grille adds so much to its charm*. Thankfully it's SORN with no MOT since 2017 so it hasn't haunted the roads for a while.

In other news, a rather more basic Volvo hearse than the norm. Apparently the funeral director couldn't get a new hearse when he needed one, so he had his 17-year old private car converted.

Funerals are bloody expensive, we could set up doing them with a fleet of old nails, do the crem ourselves.

Apparently the 'Addams Family Car' was built, owned and driven by the late Barry Pedder of Southport.  I don't know if the car was ever a working hearse, but the late Mr Pedder was often seen driving it in the area.  He was, apparently, a cabbie by trade rather than a funeral director and had form for doing funny things with cars.  Pedder died circa 2018, which would explain the car's disappearance from the road.

Here's the car taking part in a Halloween parade in 2014.

Compare the elegance of the vehicle with the ‘not even one shit given’ attitude of the driver!

Saw a rather splendid funeral cortege last week A silver RR Phantom, I think, the modern type, converted to a hearse, followed by two matching mourners cars, all with matching number plates, well not matching, but you know what I mean. Few bobs worth there,I thought.
