The dash at night

I suspect that is one of many.  I remember the first time I ever got a Haynes manual for a model that was also sold in the USA and reading through the translation page at the front.  I knew most of them, but some came as a surprise.  Rocker panel was one..

You have an elephant aboard? Or just a large case. 🤣

Management’s Toyota Vellfire. Engine wasn’t on - hence all the scary warning lights. The eerie blue glow is the immobiliser light.

That dash cluster is oddly familiar... wonder why? :D

The Nexia.

In full red 'race mode'...  As soon as you dim the dash at all, it goes from white to red.  The blue backlighting comes itself when you open the driver's door.

Check Engine lights never dim though, do they?!

Missing a couple of bulbs (and a couple of gauges)

Oddly it didn't tell me the hood was open. I think it's meant to.

I don't. Like any civilised car, it doesn't have a hood.

Surely the chances of getting into the dark side of a Trabant speedo are pretty minimal? ( no offence)

Ha!  You'd be surprised!  My cruising speed is 90kph, and I once pushed her up to 112, which I think is 70mph!

It's the all-round drum, non-servo braking that focuses the mind and keeps your speed down, not the engine!  Cornering speeds are relatively high though, think old Mini.

Note....  Whilst pulling the Qek caravan, top speed is reduced to around 45mph (too high for third, too low for top!), there's very little effect on initial acceleration, but the wind resistance humbles the low torque available pretty quickly...

Here's the express.  1/2 bulbs left for the speedo, nothing for the vertical sliders for the heating controls.

Reminds me of my R5. I never knew the heater controls lit up, until one evening out of the blue they just for some reason did..

Because French I assume.

Updated as I've now also fixed the heater control illumination.
