The dinky vette looks like it was conceived on an etch a sketch.

At the risk of showing my age, I do remember playing with that - it was actually called Trik Trak. The track sections had a wider mouth than exit, made of moulded plastic, with lugs on the corners so they could be secured to a board if required. I don't have clear recollections of the cars though so either they didn't last or, more likely, my interest was overtaken by a Hornby train set and then a Scalextric layout.

Vintage 1964 Transogram Trik-trak Cross Country Road Rally Set #3960 Gm986 for sale online | eBay

Trik-Trak was licenced from Transogram in the US by Tri-ang, which is likely why it seemed an odd fit to the rest of the range.  1968 does seem very late too.

I have a story to bore you.  Around ten years back we were out at my Wife's office 'do' and at some point around a restaurant table, one fella piped-up that as a child he always wanted a Trik-Trak and did anyone remember them.  Blank faces all round - including me.  So, him being a decent fella and coming-up to his 50th birthday soon, I hatched a plot.  I got hold of a set, bought blind through fleabay.  Thankfully, it was complete and I managed to get one of the cars in the set working.   Weeks later, the same crowd was out again, for his 50th meal and drinks.  It was presented as a gift across the restaurant table - a big box too.  Pretty sure this was the set:

1313856189_s-l1600(1).jpg.2859e98f6eed39d6f265a718a2e6215b.jpg

Later that night, sloshed, we went back to his new flat (recent divorce, part of the reason to cheer him up) and, fuelled by more beers, we laid it out all over the floor.  The sight of grown men on their knees enjoying getting a motorised toy to drive itself about must have been great* fun for our Wives.

This is the car in a Trik-Trak.  Anyone got one?  I remember the drive was direct to one tyre:

They pop up occasionally, not valuable, just nostalgic for all of five minutes.

I think I bought something like that a couple of years ago at a boot sale.

Does anyone have a model of a T4 van?

Few on the bay but they are pricey. I have stuff to trade if anyone is interested.

I've this Matchbox-sized panel van by Welly, which looks like it was cloned from Siku's T4:

Detail's not amazing, but it's intact and would probably make a decent enough custom base.

Dunno if that's any use to you? 50p takes it.

Porsche is the second release with the inverted colour scheme. Not really a Merc fan but this one's cool, needs some gold Real Riders I reckon

Yeah sweet dude. Can you put it to one side for me, as I'm hoping another bus like the one I had off you will turn up soon?

I did look today funnily enough.  He wants £20 for the Lotus by Fleischmann

If he will do a discounted deal on the two for us, while the cash is under his nose, even better!

I gathered together my remaining Spot-Ons for a photo...

The Isetta is unrestored, and will stay that way.  Caravan and Fiat 500 have both been through my sprayshop; Bentley and A40 done with Humbrol.  A40 and Fiat represent cars I've owned; Bentley is about as close as I'll get to the one used on TV by Jason King (played by Peter Wyngard, first in Department S, then in his own series).  The Fiat cost an arm and a leg in repro parts, it would have been cheaper to put it in the bin and buy another off ebay!

Now then... one for @Heidel_Kakao!

My Stalwart Dinky.

Can't bear the wheels !   Since when did Alvis fit ROstyle-esque Whizzwheeling efforts?

No Micro Machines cars here, but I do quite like the buildings,as they just about work with 1/87 scale cars 20210623_123355.thumb.jpg.5781700da3376fa810636f594b4e05cc.jpg

Wouldn't it be great if Nemesis is seen sporting Purdey's tan boots on Friday.

WHO DID IT WORSE?

The Simca 1100/1200.

On the left, Majorette's Simca 1100 TI

On the right, Guisval's Simca 1200

Both approx 1:60 in scale and have good profiles.

IMG_0691.thumb.JPG.02b0ba8bafc4c235df65432781dc033d.JPG

Both have reasonable clochardes.

But the Majorette has an OPENING THING.

And the Majorette has a tow bar for towing something.

Long card packaging too, for maximum artwork display.

Can confirm that the Mercedes really is lovely. Even the cast-in headlight wipers are visible.
