That red one does look like Ironsides van but it's a no.47 Trojan van, in nicer condition than mine!

Yo @danthecapriman do you also remember the Simca/Dodge cube van? I remember seeing a few of those, I think they went up to about an A reg.

I can’t ever remember the cube van version, no. I know of it, and it was sold here but don’t remember seeing them on the road.
It must’ve been around A/B reg 84ish they stopped making those little 1100 vans?

Mind you, apart Bollox’s one, when was the last time you saw a car 1100 on the road?! I bet a RHD UK original is like hens teeth now.

It was called the VF2.

I always thought they looked very similar to Fiat Fiorinos.

There was also the pickup.52002623835_f4651c847f_k.jpg.1859f9dd49e702ef95dbd61c10a80fd0.jpg

Which I reckon was the basis for the Rancho.

Couple of supermarket trips recently have netted next to nothing. Supplies of anything new have completely dried up again.

Asda had put out new stocks of these old Majorwtte 60th anniversary things, I already have the Porsche Carrera and Nissan Skyline, but I now finally have the Renner 5 Maxi Turbo that I missed out on last time,

IMG_20250626_144744.jpg.d37b9a33c4a9ed237b6ed1a39f4f3d0e.jpg

At cheaper than a Hot Wheels premium and with stuff like rubber tyres, opening bits and nice tampo printed detailing, these Majorettes arent a bad buy,

IMG_20250626_144800.jpg.6c7925712257c19ac13ee5ec5af32950.jpg

Livery is a bit evocative of the old Renault Elf colours as seen on these cars when they were current,

Just a shame there's no rendering of the engine inside the opening boot, given Majorette's fondness of 'junk in the trunk' all those years ago

Morrisons had shedloads of newly put out Hot Wheels, sadly it was a case from the beginning of the year with the green Audi Quattro and grey surfer Land Rover S1. They'll be there for a while! Still.the same unsold Premiums which arent even shifting at £6.50 on the More Card, but after a rummage through the Matchbox section, I came across a 5.pack I've not seen before,

IMG_20250626_145552.jpg.76518a4d9603863e18b196696d255ffa.jpg

I was briefly tempted by the new Japan Cruisers one with the white Autozam and the lovely red Lexus, but this Porsche set won me over.

Bit meh over the 918 Spyder, expensive supercars aren't really my thing, but then again, I do like yellow cars..

IMG_20250626_145731.jpg.d219408d17102bab6e3bc94acfe42190.jpg

This 914 is a lovely thing though, especially with the colour and the graphics, but hey Mattel,

The Targa is one I havent managed to get yet as a single , but it's pretty clever how they've managed to create the windows, roll bar and Targa top all from the one moulding. I'm going to have to get this one out and have a proper look when I get back at the weekend I think.

One of my favourite Porkers, The MB GT3, and it just looks pure horn in this colour scheme.

VF1 estate based van

VF2 high roof van

VF3 pick-em-up truck

short for "Voiture Fourgonnette"

it was launched in 1972 5 years before the fiorino

I found this at a charity shop. The brand is "Minikraft" from South Korea which is new to me. 1:18 scale and opening doors, bonnet, boot etc. I'm going to guess it was possibly a decoration for a dealership or a complimentary freebie when you purchased the real thing.

It's $69.99 AUD (around 33 quid), should I get it? They go for around £300 on eBay.

Looks like a really unusual big thing, and not a maker I've heard of either - not exactly cheap, but sounds as if you'd be able to turn a healthy profit on it should you decide to move it on!

One thing worth mentioning regarding ebay for the above model (looks nice btw), check sold items for real world prices rather than listing prices as most of the time what people ask and what they actually sell for can be far apart (the MGF I posted a while back for example).

How do you do that? Always been curious!

A bunch of cars I’ve been working on are all just about to leave the workbench. There’s a couple of tiny bits still to finish here and there but nothing major.

Granada estate, which has been seen with a modified Vanguard’s Ford 100e done as a boy racers car like many were in the 70’s and 80’s. De-bumpered, jewel headlights in place of the broken plastic originals, bullet mirrors. I did get some replacement wheels but they turned out to be too big for it so I just painted the original wheels black.

Ex Rally partwork Renault 17 is now a road car. Just need to find some suitable mirrors for it.
Princess is an Atlas/Vanguards model stripped and redone to look like Lomper’s one from The Full Monty.

Another Sierra purchased. Supposedly a Swiss release? I think though they must have sold the surplus off in the U.K. as I seem to have a lot of these export only models.

Two boxes arrived today.  Well they probably arrived at my Accommodation Address a few days ago but I picked them up today.

100_2390.JPG.ee4d7ef8dc250fb16c35a8766fcb87c2.JPG

Oh dear, what's happened here?

100_2391.JPG.ec356503d48298d83f8ef7b1328a0b89.JPG

This, apparently, is how it arrived.  Lesley said her Evri driver apologised and told her he didn't think anything had dropped out; he did check.  So I unpacked it...

100_2393.JPG.d580203815afb3f5e2b84f02983d1a7c.JPG

This is my box from @FakeConcern.  I've checked it against the list he sent me and it's correct, phew!  Some prizes among this lot, I'm going to have fun with them!

The other box was from @Tenmil Socket...

100_2396.JPG.ae53752039c83d245edea0d19862896b.JPG

There are some I want to dismantle for parts, and I've actually given away a couple to one of my Carer friends, but most of this box is available; if there's anything you want, shout up before I flog them all at the Motor Museum.

So, Mr Concern and Mr Socket, thank you both! :)

And when I got home there was another box waiting for me: my Steve Flowers order.

100_2397.JPG.39f7265873c5bd75ba961b19a628be64.JPG

A couple of these things mean I can finally finish some of the projects on my bench, that have been stalled waiting.  You'll see those over the coming days.

Oh and I've been in The Range, perving the craft aisles...

100_2388.JPG.6268d095326c8807af4f201e10b1b604.JPG

I've already used some of that roll of shiny dots, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than headlight jewels!  I can have some fun with some of these...

Oh no! I'm very sorry @eddyramrod I usually put tape around both axis of the box and I don't know why I didn't in this instance

100_2391.JPG

I'm pleased they all survived intact (as they were when they left anyway!).

@FakeConcern Nothing to worry about!  I'm delighted with my haul anyway.  I can already see a couple of things for the next Flowers order...

Nice haul(s) there @eddyramrod 👍

I wonder what little Billy was thinking of when he made that poor Corgi Berliet into a convertible!?😄

Those little jewels look perfect for headlight replacements. Are they the flat backed ones? If so they’re great for upgrading models that didn’t have the jewels from new. Just file the cast headlight lump flat and stick these on.

Yes, they're ideal.  Flat backed and self-adhesive, and perfectly sized to replace a 7" Lucas at 1/43.  And the sheet of smaller dots should work just as well as the 5-3/4" quads.

That poor Berliet indeed.  Still... we've all done stuff in the past, I suppose.  I snaffled it for the chassis really, I've got cabs I can use on it.  The driver was unexpected!  He looks awfully French, right down to the beret.  I will have to find him a suitable new job.

Put him in the Monkeemobile? The French Monkees, Les Singes...

By the way, what do you think of the FE Siku Crane?

It's a beast, isn't it!  You weren't wrong about the weight, blimey!  I'll have to think up something special for this one.

Marcel won't be going in the Monkeemobile, I'm afraid.  I have other plans for that.  Like the crane, and indeed several others, it'll have to wait and endure a significant amount of looking-at before anything comes to fruition.  Most of yesterday's haul is still in Desmond's boot, and I need to clear some space upstairs before I bring anything in.

Ive tried to keep it looking ‘toy’ like rather than a model. Shiny finish enamel paints help there but should also be a bit harder wearing. Not that it’ll get played with of course!
The windscreen is worse than I thought unfortunately. The crack is quite obvious and I can’t really do much for that, but it’s also very very scuffed up, probably from years of use in someone’s sand pit. I tried polishing it up but it wasn’t really having any effect. Likewise the rear body and wheels, being plastic, are quite rough now just from age and damage over the years. I suppose it’s character!
Thing is, it’s 50 odd years old now and considering the way it started I’m pretty happy with it.
