I remember having the Taxi one as a kid, quite hard to find one now!

I’ve never seen that plain blue Regal with silver interior before.  I like the plain black one too but mine is a right mess.
I had a taxi cab one as a kid but it’s long gone.

Most unusual one I’ve ever found was an orange one. Found in a job lot a year or two back but never seen another one.
I wouldn’t mind having a go recreating a few of Juniors versions but using the big 1:36 casting to do it since they didn’t make that many variations of that.

Today, I went to Evesham to meet a former (now-retired) work colleague for a few games of pool. I took the old "Pub landlord" Jag:

20250412_155656.jpg.42424a16566f0d0416e13daa8496c12a.jpg

We were joined by another colleague and his son. When it was their turn to have a couple of games I popped across the road to this place:

20250412_142152.jpg.57c9880d67ddc1699a816c7dd30dc32f.jpg

It sells all sorts. On the ground floor you have a lot of new gifts, model cars etc... on the first floor, you have antiques/treasures and second-hand trinkets.

Dinky did a lovely job of the BGT, I coveted it when it first came out, definitely a cut above a Corgi Classic of the time.

Today's finds the Ford Model A almost looks like a premium with new wheels and the livery. Hopefully I will see this in the flesh racing on Bridlington beach at Race The Waves in June.

Thanks; probably a good call if there was a Hobbycraft within 50 miles of me.

It's all fine for you in the bustling metrollops.  Where I am we've only got Boots and Halfords by the skin of our teeth, and it's a good hour drive to anywhere else that might, with no guarantees when you get there.  Hell I don't even know where the nearest Lidl is (but we do have two Aldis in Barrow and one in Ulverston, so I suppose that's something)!  Hobbycraft goes on the same shelf of dreams as boot sales.

Actually I do know where to find a Hobbycraft.  It's in Chester, a mere 130 miles to the south.

Hobbycraft are fully online and postage is less than the the fuel would be if one were 5 miles from you.

Perfectly assumed.  I honestly thought that acronym had gained enough traction here to be universally recognised.

Yes common enough it ought to be in the AS Lexicon

Was surprised it is not listed

THE FIRST of the line Corgi Buick Regal Juniors release for 1977

Slippery Slope far too tempting, so decided to keep back just the UAE Police شُرْ طَة‎ (šurṭa) Juniors and the City of Metropolis 'Superman' tie-in Juniors

Comparison of scales: Corgi's Buick Regals in 1:21, 1:37 and 1:72 scales (yes I’m sad, I measured)

Track car is properly elusive, never seen one but to be fair not been searching…

THE LAST of the line, using tooling carried on by Mattel as a Hot Wheels for 1997

Never seen one of those either

Apparently…

…there’s a mega rare variation of the Metropolis Police Juniors version that has a weird green roof light. Seemingly very scarce and worth a bit if you find one. Although now they’re as old as they are the roof light is often the first bit to get broken off so there’s probably some out there but you’d never know now.
