Looking at the condition of it, it will probably spin into life after being given an oiling.

I'll buy it as it is.  I do have a very rough donor here with mechanism working to make a good one out of two and wail the neighborhood silly

Just received this bundle from @155V6. I put out a request for a Pilen Mk1 Fez the other day, and he was quick to find me one. Really pleased with this model - it's a great casting. I love the colour and tinted glass - even the mismatched wheels don't seem out of place. It'll stay as is.

Whilst I was asking about diecast, he also sorted me a couple of Simca 1308s/Alpines and a Renault 18! I've not owned may Majorettes over the years - the tinted glass/headlight moulding is a neat trick! So much effort for individual models too.

I'd promised myself that I need to seriously cut back on my surplus before buying again, but this little lot are allowed exception to the rule 😉

The Renault is interesting having blue glazing and blue headlamps -  yet it is a Taxi Cab!

Had this little lot since a boy, Renner second from left

Maybe the blue glazing was due to first release being a police car not sure never looked

With recent MB Action drivers, er, action on here, I was also tempted by the Pizza Hut set,

Mattel-Matchbox-Maly-Zestaw-Pizza-Hut-HJT89-HJT90-Volkswagen-GTI.jpeg.881776302322a9127816551e952a61f2.jpeg

reduced to £15, as Mrs_201 works a manager for Pizza Hut, and I also like the Golf GTi that comes with it. The separate clip-on Pizza Hut delivery sign for the car is a fun touch

Oh wow - now that's a bit of a find.

I've managed to acquire a couple of the Matchbox Action Drivers sets from my nearest branch of Toytown, but haven't seen any of the Pizza Hut sets in there.

They seem to fetch a fair chunk of coin on eBay and the like; there's a US release with a red roof and the traditional PH logo which I think was a Target exclusive from Christmas 2021, and then there's the black roof version you spotted which was a 2022 release for Europe only.

In terms of working features it's a bit limited compared to other sets in the range - just the opening store doors with a staff member emerging - but the Golf with removable roof sign is super appealing.

I might have to explore some other branches, then...

Sole purchase at the charity shop yesterday, nothing else appealed. This was only 50 p and it'll go nicely with my other random 1/43 stuff:

Making progress on the Fiat 131 kit:

IMG_0979.JPG.e4846b9ff3abd2d387be6f7af11d2236.JPG

Bodyshell fully painted and polished, now just black trim detailing to go. Most other parts prepped, and I found a few more bits like the radiator, fire extinguisher,  steering wheel, gearlever and pedals in various parts/scrap containers. Front and rear screens need to be separated from the side glass, then I'll redo the latter with flat sheet.

IMG_0983.JPG.9bfe79d13faf446e8580f39f8a20130d.JPG

Good to see it with an engine in again. It had a new one, I figured after 41 years the original might be a bit tired....

IMG_0976.JPG.b2ecf7e4dbcc20b10788e5f473c4df9a.JPG

Wheels just loosely placed, it doesn't have any suspension yet. Grille needed to be tidied-up, it had a thick coating of not enirely smooth Humbrol white enamel. I found the original headlight lenses, but I painted them matt black back when I originally built it as a rallycross car. I'll try and find some replacements, or at worst give them a go with Gundam chrome marker. I also need to make up something for the indicators, and perhaps a bit of mesh for the slot below the grille (ditto for the brake cooling scoops).

Racing number is right for Ickx at the 1972 South African GP where the curved front end was used. Ickx had a dark blue helmet.

Not too much to write home about today. Picked up most of it from the early boot sale, maybe this burger van puts off sellers at the lazy bones one?

I found a racing version on the interwebs

95746-1.jpg

And then I found the answer

COUGAR 1301 Scale 1/43 | CITROEN 2CV 1975 GREEN (carmodel.com)

95367-1.jpg

95367_3-1.jpg

Cougar was a brand aim at children made by Solido.

Solido History: 90 years of passion and models cars !

Quote

1300 series: 1980 marks the transition to 4-digit numbering at Solido. First named Cougar and aimed at children. The models look more toy-like and are sold in blister or cardboard boxes. The wheels are called “buttons”.

Also the Cougar models were sold under the Dinky brand

OIP.KJoPrpa-UMKhH2Ml0RdlfgHaDH?pid=ImgDe

I guess you example is a Dinky version.

@bunglebusYou've really had some great finds recently! That Matchbox speed boat with the outboard motor is great, I think the best Mrs Concern has is one with half of it (!) it does have the propeller though haha.

@SpottedlaurelThe Saab is a nice one I recently re painted one like that (only with most paint missing) and I'm now looking out for another one. Loving the Mirafiori build, it's really looking good!

the next seller wanted £3 each for the Corgis and £5 for the Polistil

IMG_9482.JPG.b30c9c06de9a2bab2b44bfc1b22447f2.JPG

I gave £10 for the lot

Next up £10 for these

a bit more than I wanted to pay, but ok as I've never seen a Corgi A40, even a squished one or a Corgi 325i even though I don't like BMW or collect 1/35! Also lately all the old late 50s and early 60s Corgis have been at least £8 at the toy fairs more or less regardless of condition.

These two for £4

Both pretty good except missing tyres, luckily the Heinkel has the back one and I have some the correct size for the front

Not a bad Corgi Landy for 50p

£1 for both of these I thought someone* might want the interior of the camper thing rather than taking it from the nice one they've already got

IMG_9484.JPG.7e78f0af634fb918bad441d18c6ed631.JPG

We went into Brighton later for a coffer and mooch around and saw this Dino in the window of the vintage toy shop. I used to be mates with someone who had a real one in yellow with the reg TOY14

I din't expect much inside, but found this Dinky Clubman lurking with the no name shite for £3

Shame, I sold that absolutely battered one for a couple of quid on eBay, so that one must be worth what you paid for the lot

Went car show.  Caught sunburn proper.  Been keeping well away from purchases for some while now as got to clear a helluva lot out as looking to downsize hoose

Bought these.  Oh woe. Seller did the 'knew what he had' type conversation which led onto a deal at £20 the lot.

Pacer is - clean, clean, lush even.
Vanpire never had one and missing tailgate but he just said "a couplaquid" and it went from there
Dinky Triumph 1300  - never had one and is complete with all opening things.
Viva HA, same - never had one and is complete with all opening things (for once!)
Lone Star Zodiac has the much-needed bonnet for my existing one already back  here
Not sure what the clockwork thing is but I'm a sucker for clockwork things

Nice! Love the Triumph especially!

That Lone Star Zodiac look to be huge in that pic, I'm sure the one I have is Matchbox size.

(yes I know things look bigger if they're closer...)

Shame about the tailgate, they are available as a repro but I find the metal a bit soft. Plenty of tatty donors out there though

New 5 pack spotted. Not exciting enough to warrant a buy

Paddle Steamer was an odd choice for Corgi to produce

PXL_20240519_102740903.jpg

From a short-lived range I think only for 1981/82 and bit of an odd choice.   The Paddle Steamer even more so, as the 'Wild West' is further west than the Mississippi river a paddle steamer would have been associated with

I had the steam loco an the coach and no idea they were such a short lived range. I still have both but they didn't survive hard play too well. The state of release ties in with my age being under 5, any cars bought after that fared much better.

I definitely had the paddle boat. Used to play with it in the kitchen sink! It’ll be long gone now though.

Dont think I’ve ever seen any of the others from that series.
