That's Dinky.  It's also very kind of you to think of us lot rather than just flinging it as so many would!

It's held together with screws on the base, so should be an easy resto M8 once it touches down chez Alfa.

Only got the one, a complete one here.

Will keep eye out though.

One I wasn't aware of... seen Maisto and MC Toys rebranded as Chad Valley, but Corgi?

I'd have been over the moon with this set at aged 10.

Fuck who am I kidding, I'd still be overjoyed at 36... though not at 50 quid.

^^^ That's really nice. Can't be a common find in that condition!

I think Woolworths' buyers were pretty wide-ranging... I had a couple of Chad Valley car transporter playsets from the early 2000s made by Hongwell.

Obviously blaggers had used the mk10 Jag.

I need one of those hot wheels zakspeed Capri's the likelihood of finding one round here is low.

That's because it is.  It's the old Heller 1/43, done to represent Mike Gambit's RR from The New Avengers, LOK 537P IIRC.  It's been kicking around in various boxes for years, I dragged it into the light to fix it up.

Actually found some things worth buying in local shops:

IMG_8619.thumb.JPG.b24f61ff4b50c0d4581b44c62b04c073.JPG

Don't usually bother with 5-packs, but I hadn't previously seen this Nissan set. Found it at Sainsbury's (not cheap!) along with the Majorette Volvo, the sort of random car they do well and which seemed to link nicely with their old 245. They also had the Sierra Cosworth, Porsche 944 and Mercedes in the Car Culture range, but at £9 each I left them.

Mazda and silly F&F Skyline were at B&M, the latter range down to £3.99 each. They had 5-packs down to £6 each, but there were none there that tempted me (mercifully I didn't see the Nissan set there at the price, otherwise that would have been a little annoying).

Local Morrisons had a good range of the Majorette 5-packs at £10 each (half price), but at most there was only a couple in each that I really wanted and they take up a bit of space. I think I saw the HW 5-packs also at 50% off, so £5 each, but again none that I felt the desire to buy.

There's a little toy and train fair on tomorrow down at Needham Market, got some decent stuff there before, but family life dictates I can't get to that one.

Got caught in some rain the other day, whilst replacing some fence palings and doing general boundary fence fixing.

Just reward for this natural break in a rare bout of productivity meant that I allowed myself with a quick mini shite photo sesh, until it dried up.

I hope @AndyW201 doesn't mind me doing a somewhat gratuitous reveal of this Vanguards Nova I'd almost forgotten I'd picked up for him:

Screenshot_20230928_212637_Gallery.thumb.jpg.1e2436032e45c38660f4c99e886a3332.jpg

Thought a check backdrop was a fitting tribute to the seat inlays seen in the Chevette HS, a spiritual precursor to the Nova.

Panicked slightly at the presence of only 1 door mirror but then I remembered that passenger mirrors would've been optional in earlier Novas.

Nice bit of info here on the factory Sport model. These had a reputation of being super lairy but 117bhp sounds a bit of a letdown. Only 2 theoretical bhp more than my Visa! I guess my Cav SRi is about the same power but 2 models bigger, so maybe it was a bit of a weapon, in hindsight.

Brushed the hob off again to act as a studio, as I was inspired by my current screen saver on my phone:

Screenshot_20230928_212544_Gallery.thumb.jpg.54b7e6bee07e249d1e5a54506c47321b.jpg

It's certainly a nicely rendered effort, for sure. I'm trying my darndest not to be irked by the post-2001 Charles Wright font plate but the displeasure force is strong, tbh.

Screenshot_20230928_212515_Gallery.thumb.jpg.33ba60bc36b8439ab0f4134bbcbcd3b1.jpg

The decals are lovely and crisp and it's nice to see details like number plate lamps, which could've been easily overlooked.

Here's my homage to Andy's Vanguards interior shots. Not easy to pick up freehand with a phone, whilst trying to light the interior!

Screenshot_20230928_212420_Gallery.thumb.jpg.3aee29002d3294b34e9a8002c519cb5a.jpg

Maybe a bit monochrome but that slabby dash does remind me of my brother's old Nova 1.2, which seemed exceedingly fast for a 1200. Perhaps the 1300 Sport was gruff, then. Just shy of 100bhp/litre!

Screenshot_20230928_212411_Gallery.thumb.jpg.c8ff6bfeaac7a2b8de9cdb3d11fa292a.jpg

Screenshot_20230928_212402_Gallery.jpg.9ec2350b1522aaf05aa109a2a87dbecc.jpg

I'm guessing this is an underslung spare, which the rally Nova didn't have of course, with its spare in the back. A hangover from other Nova castings, I guess. But you can't grumble in this instance of 1000 editions.

Finally, a bit of artwank, for good measure:

This should hopefully be with you early next year, Andy!

I haz CogBox from @Datsuncog

StobartTransporter.thumb.jpg.0409c43434d60e8c7564eeb342b921ef.jpg

A mixed bag here - a scratchbuilt bus, an Oxford Diecast transporter missing its ramps, Cararama Merc A-class and BMW 5-series, and a plastic Kinder Surprise Smart ForTwo.

The bus is the unmistakeable handiwork of Bill Day but with something I haven't seen from him before. He normally used pre-coloured blue or red plastic for seats but this has embossed brick-effect plastic to give some texture.

EastLancsOlympian.thumb.jpg.5098c0fc6c73b9b3c7fe9e3109be1015.jpg

I think it's modelled on the two East Lancs-bodied Leyland Olympian coaches (B101/2 PHC) supplied to Eastbourne Buses in 1985, back in the days when most council bus fleets still had a few coaches for local citizens to hire, but in a fictional livery.

EastLancsOlympian1.thumb.jpg.7b9c8c830df96cb50937c08d7b6237f5.jpg

That Smart car didn't look the same as the ones I had. Let's take a closer look.

Smart_ForTwos.thumb.jpg.8b19cd6688148ec44ba8f31a8e081916.jpg

Smart_ForTwos_1.thumb.jpg.c4fc4ed3e0bf37eda8b721781c004a8d.jpg

Smart_ForTwos_2.thumb.jpg.5daa007871416a845ee15b8c4a294ef2.jpg

Yep, that's an entirely new and slightly bigger moulding to represent the second-generation ForTwo. Both really nice little models and far better than anything I ever got in a Kinder egg when I was a kid.

@sheffcortinacentre,I dug out the Mustang. It's tatty, but complete. The rear suspension is a bit low,but it does screw together so should be easy to fix.I never realised before, but the whole roof is plastic on this one as well.

I’ve just been in this shop and bought a few things. I’m currently in Wetherspoons passing time whilst I wait for my car having new tyres fitted.

Let me know if you’re interested in anything and I can pop back in when passing.

He does good discounts. The Matcbox were priced at £6 each I paid £20 for 5. Like you say, it’s only a few pints in the pub!

I went around two boot sales today, didn't come away with much from the first one - paint was 50p a can and a colour I sent ages looking for when I was restoring a Flying Beetle

IMG-20230930-WA0009.thumb.jpeg.83b0a5a8b614f67b9ba83714192a1fcc.jpeg

Second boot sale I bought nothing - until the very last stall when this happened
