What scale is the Solido XM? Looks lovely just like the real thing!

It's 1/18 Scale. It only has a (fragile) opening boot and bonnet so the rest of the glazing remains uninterrupted.

Unfortunately not, the 'Golden Jacks' versions of Miura and the Ferrari Dino Sport were canned after the boxes were produced, hence the hasty stickerage.

The Miura pre-release advertising also showed it with the 'Red Spot' wheels type as well.

You will have you noticed that under the engine cover you can see a cast spare wheel.  That is the unique design 'Golden Jacks' intended for Miura.

So you could* do this sort of thing  http://www.batmobile.free.fr/English/CORGI_342_Lamborghini_Miura_ Take-Off.htm

The red spot wheeled versions are worth about 3 times what a teledial wheeled version is worth. It came in Yellow or Red

Breaking news, Rod Stewart didn't have two Miuras, it turns out he had three.

Registration number OVM8H and chassis #3372 was the first.

Next was the white Miura P400S Reg JLL831K and chassis #4863.

The third was an SV in yellow, Reg LUC 38K and chassis #4818

Yes was going to say that XM is worth a bit more than we might think.  Even with the missing door handle, which to be fair provides an authentic experience of living with a real XM.  I had one.  Bits fell off, like a Polistil.  It had creeping zinc pest like a Hong Kong Dinky floor pan rot like an 80s Alfa.

Can you recall price on it?  If it was a tenner I would want it  @captain_70s

I had a nose but couldn't see a price on it. I'd wager it'd be more than £10 though!

5 new additions to my miniature fleet, all bought from my local recycling centre at 50p each. I know the spark plug car isn’t technically a toy car but I couldn’t resist. Also really cool to have a model 309 finally.

It's "sort of" 1/18 scale... looks somewhat dwarfed in the company of models that genuinely are that scale.

It is a lovely model, though; not overburdened with detail, and the stick-on pillars are prone to peeling, but it just looks so "right". Much nicer than the 605 that Solido released at about the same time, I reckon. I bought mine, new – for something daft like £6 – in Liskeard Trago Mills in the early 90s, and that was enough to have me checking their toy department every year since then for similarly unlikely occurrences... fruitlessly thus far.

Miles Davis had 2, after almost killing himself in his first one he bought another. Not sure which one this is

Sometime they have to come up with the Commer minibus in Samuelson Film Service spec, Shirley?

In other news, I found myself with almost an hour to kill in town today so I dropped into BuM to look at the HW Flying Customs, and, er.... bought four.  I know Shiters are clamouring for the white Shelby, so I grabbed the only one there was; along with the 84 Firebird, the Nova Wagon and the green Cuda.  Two quid plus postage, or swopsies, especially if you're already holding something for me.

I remember being smug at picking up a Solido Hi-Fi MK1 Clio in 1990 just before the real car came onto the UK market.  I then opened the catalogue that came with the car and saw the 1/18 XM and it blew my mind how something could be so much nicer than the similarly scaled Bburagos I had and based on an everyday car. I didn't get mine until about 2015.

I should have bought one of these instead of the real thing as I loved how it looked, but not much else!

He's quite coy as to the sourcing of his wheels, but I have seen several discarded boxes round the back of his lockup bearing the AliExpress logo😉

sounds like the Ali boxes are a distraction to the use of "midnight autospares"- you order today we'll have it for you tomorrow 🤣
