Also of unclear provenance was this Lesney -sized railways horse box:

Morestone, perhaps?

The big red tractor unit on the left is very similar to the smaller blue one, but had no maker's name on it - don't think it's a Lesney, though.

I was wrong.

It is a Lesney.

But - not a common one.

At all.

Yes, van not bus... Things they do get confused in all the excitement...

Seemed very clean, though.

I picked up a Lego Chevrolet (?) Flatbed truck in Esso colours a few years back:

This set of 3 randoms was on my watchlist on Trademe and sold for £21.50 or thereabouts a few days, which I thought was a smidge steep (especially for my pockets and especially for such small items).

Seems like someone may have lucked out!

So, that having largely exhausted the delights of the Tat Stall, I took a turn round the other establishments...

Paddy still on his one-man quest to push UK inflation levels past the 500% mark, one scratched Lesney at a time.

714897691_IMG_20230804_0825252.thumb.jpg.91bfa109b4833ecc99a1fb8cddd2a187.jpg

Not sure he's shifted much yet.

One of the general tat stalls had this oddity in a basket of ornaments and stuff:

1883482302_IMG_20230804_0816562.thumb.jpg.08629f634255fa660286ca77d8dee798.jpg

Never seen anything quite like it. I'd guess it's about 1/60 scale.

605440283_IMG_20230804_0817222.thumb.jpg.e0e431d25df3f7cebe9ee3ac079b1446.jpg

Seemingly more of a promotional item than a scale model - there was no pretence at the rear box section being anything other than a canvas for decals.

1522201086_IMG_20230804_0817112.thumb.jpg.528f8855661eaf30fd5ef7e3a163fda0.jpg

No maker's name at all. Crude construction, and quite heavy, too - but not exactly white metal heavy.

1792006162_IMG_20230804_0817052.thumb.jpg.cc39a79943f57144f6517370af8e131e.jpg

Reasonable detailing, all the same - even the 'White' badge below the windscreen has been picked out in silver.

Some sort of US thing? Beats me.

There was no one minding the stall, so no idea of the asking price.

The Charity Stall was rather more involved in stabby things than wheeled things today:

1889421315_IMG_20230804_0815462.thumb.jpg.3cc51a1ed3cf2ab2a03aa7ad117c7485.jpg

Though they did have an interesting line in mystery tinned goods, too.

I think this was dog food. It's probably safer to assume it is, anyway.

A spin over to Colin's Irish tat stall revealed some strange synchronicity at work...

839213005_IMG_20230804_0821182.thumb.jpg.5cb147c87134bfdfa92c383dc6bce673.jpg

All manner of oddments appear and disappear here - Colin keeps saying "it's just whatever they have in on their website", but despite gentle questioning I'm still unclear whether 'they' is Mattel, or some other toy distributor.

More Greenlight Saturday teatime telly stuff, though. And a rally Subaru.

852692044_IMG_20230804_0819062.thumb.jpg.ad95b51becab9161ce0346495d8413dd.jpg

And a Hachette Bedford CA camper for £15.99, plus the Oxford Maestro in beige is now here.

42214540_IMG_20230804_0819012.thumb.jpg.5cb98ccb995fefffc0c17f19bb8b88eb.jpg

A run past Alan's Emporium revealed a bit more new stuff on the 50p tray, too:

Super GT and My First Matchbox funsies too.

Corgi Pacer and Majo Dodge pickup, plus toybox grade Hot Wheels and Matchbox.

1809465655_IMG_20230804_0944252.thumb.jpg.2b09c677b5afd853ae406021dbacc26e.jpg

Presumed it was the decent GT you were after, rather than the knackered one!

I also picked these three up speculatively:

1274543477_IMG_20230804_1150092.thumb.jpg.617f9e24a9d6152c51f3fa08323989dd.jpg

Happy to keep them myself, or they're £3 a throw to anyone who fancies them.

Not selling this one, though:

297254472_IMG_20230804_1150192.thumb.jpg.3a398e8b9365cb37de5242e3832eeafc.jpg

I had a knackered one of these off my cousin when I was little, but this one's very tidy.

64296110_IMG_20230804_1150232.thumb.jpg.f17948567cdbe22666c174023f9edb1d.jpg

So - one for the DC Permanent Collection.

Here's how we're shaping up at the midpoint today:

Will see if the Corniche is still around!

Catch you on the flipside ..

Kept the Majorette though, in Dutch Siemens livery.  Bought that in France new, when was aged 10

It’s rather good at breaking down that was when my brother was bringing it back from the same trip in my picture, I think our mate Ben took that , I was safely home 2 days. E Ford in the Bentayga.

Last trip , in 2020 I fashioned a cunning bodge using a childs flip flops to prevent overheating.

we also discovered if you keep it at around 90 instead of 70 it runs cooler. Also it doesn’t go anywhere without a tender with a tow strap in the boot. I still love it, the fact it was registered on my 18th birthday means I’ve dropped hints to the owner to leave it to me in his wil !
