Today's finds weren't exactly awe-inspiring like Cora.

I popped to another superstore, Carrefour of whom last year they had some good finds but this time there was nothing much of note no 1/18 scales and the shelves were a mess (I did 'tidy up' some shelves so I knew what I was looking at)

There was this 1.24 Nissan Hardbody:

And this 1.36 Mercedes I found quite nice:

Much to rich for my depleted funds.

Got to admit, Playmobile have really pulled their game up. I think they've got some new agreements to make popular cars. 

I came away with 2 x Bburago 1.43 Polo and Nissan Juke Nismo and 2 x Matchbox cars an Audi TT and an old Mercedes (I'll add pics later to this post as I'm not at home at the moment)

I think Playmobil are tapping nicely into the 'second time around' retro Market like Lego have. Did I imagine an A Team van in Smyths?

Playmobil doesn’t seem to hold its value like Lego does, we’ve a box full under the stairs, we couldn’t even get a tenner for it on Gumtree so it’s awaiting the charity shop. There’s loads of little bits, I remember my eldest getting the caravan, it even had the cutlery!

Playmobile did, for a long time, do a lot of forgetful tat, figures on a picnic or the occasional Construction/Hospital worker. But I reckon these new items may well set Playmobile in a new light.

I had the 80’s stuff as a kid, it always struck me how it always had Ibiza plates on them so PM9999AB

Probably not, Smythes will most likely have it.  Smythes is the UK-equivalent of Belgium's 'Maxi Toys' franchise.

Still haven't found a French supermarket with as much as the Belgian stores above, certainly no 1:18s. There were a few 1:43 bBuragos, but I don't find them very appealing. Got these at a Super U yesterday:

The Majorette Celica is nice and I'll keep that one. The ambulance (or Bureau de Poste van purchased the other day) was bought with @Split_Pin in mind, and if only we knew of someone who liked custom diecast Beetles - can you think of anyone @bunglebus?.......

I have not done any modelling or painting of die-casts for a great number of years. This come up in my YT feed.

In recent years I've favoured Revell enamels to Humbrol (although I do still have some aged pots of the latter which I use every so often).

A lot of people have gone over to acrylics, but I don't like brush painting with them.

This Dinky Mini was purchased from the original owner, who painted it when he was a kid. Seems to he a different casting to others I've found as the bonnet doesn't open. Bought for £1 and said I'd restore it

This is an oddity, apparently in about 1986 Hot Wheels released a range of X-V Racers featuring friction motors, this one's the Ultimator

Lastly this pair of Super Kings Europa caravans cost me £1

So today my brothers took me out to eat and we also visited a place called 'Pêle Mêle' near the Grande Place. Pêle Mêle is a kind of a Hipster-mart with loads of second-hand CDs, records, books, BD (bande dessinée/hard-back comic books which is very popular over here) and some train/car models. 

Of course, the thing that I was most interested in was the car models:

These were Ok to start with, nothing really took my fancy especially on a massively depleted budget.

But then......

Yeah. Budget was gonna take another hit. Ah well.

What I bought was a 1.43 Opel Zafira for 6 €, they are £20 / 25 € on eBay. Plus I had a Zafira before. The Renault Espace was very nice but I already have it.

The Bburago and Matchboxes were what I bought yesterday.

I am an adult honest:

This in Tesco made me so frustrated. Thieving shits, it's not like they're expensive models. Or food.

Still, I am finding some rare ones in the mix. Still only buying things on appeal rather than trying to complete sets.

Though my colleagues got me a "get well soon" set.

I have a couple of spares...

This isn't counting the unboxed ones around the house, which I may have shared - the windowsill of 4x4s being the main collecting bug, but now I am focused on Art Cars that I like (so very picky, I'm liking the Mondrian pickup for example). Some of the factory or J-import sets may go if I need to make space. 4x4s and cars I've owned/dream cars are always the priority!

I got this one in Home Bargains in Bathgate of all places.

I think I have every generation of Civic now between New Ray, Matchbox, Hotwheels and Tomica.

Morning bootsale saw not a lot of excitement unless you wanted a beige telephone

However there was one seller with plenty of old Matchbox Corgi etc - not 50p bargains but I was pleased with the 4 I bought

Especially pleased with Ironside's truck as this has been a hard one to find - Ironside himself has trundled off to solve some crimes

Rockets Bertone and the "burnt" Duplo coach are in lovely condition, and the Lone Star Fiat is complete and restorable.
