Paint it blue and white and pale yellow, make a Cold War Motors tribute out of it.

Be sure to splice something on it too.

Ha good shout!

I'll have to give it some classic tyres and a poodle in the passengers seat.

In The California Kid, the sheriff's car was a 57 Plymouth coupe, blue with white doors.  Now there's a project...

You've ruined my day.

Red CRXs still look ace. I wish I was still 8.

Junkman: you can get it in Wilkos (née Wilkinsons) in the DIY section.  It might be age restricted so I recommend you take someone that looks like a responsible adult with you, if you can find one.

Had another arrival this week from a Trademe seller, after I was the only bidder. You may well see why....

This Michigan bulldozer thing was the 'extra' item, which came with the thing I actually wanted. It's a Siku, so I'll gladly accept it. A somewhat basic design, it's of course nicely made and the shovel still goes up and down on its dampers and stays in place, as you can see. There's also opening engine access hatches both side, so there's a bit of play value, or whatever it's called.

SIKU-V-326-Planier-Traktor-Michigan-180-

Here's a library photo of a good one; surprisingly, I've very little missing from mine! Produced 1971-74, according to a dutch Siku site, which has many images of hitherto unknown to me Sikus. Oh dear.

Anyway, this was the one that I wanted:

A Siku Magirus dustbin lorry (produced 1967-74, apparently), seen here in its natural environs. Saw in the listing that it had a front tyre missing but I thought I'd be canny and take off one from the rear duals. Except 2 of them were missing also! So if anyone has 3 1970's Siku tyres, hit me up!

As this rural fly tipping scene demonstrates, the rear compartment has a high play entertainment threshold, or something.

Sadly, it's missing the little plastic bin, seen here:

45-4.jpg?maxwidth=1000&maxheight=1000

But that's hardly pivotal, is it...

Anyway, I'm not grumbling for less than a fiver for the pair, delivered!

I don't know how many times this poor Cortina has been repainted.

So I repainted it again.

Recreating classic advertising.....there is a new modelling theme I had overlooked!

Speaking of adverts with cars stuck to things, there's this SAAB one.  The story goes it was a transporter driver who didn't pay attention to the bridge height and this one SAAB got stuck there and then left for advertising to higlight how strong they are.  Probably apocryphal on the reason for it but the photograph is right there.  I don't know where this happened either, the location changes depending who is telling the story.

That's brilliant, I remember seeing that poster on the Cromwell Rd and stopping to try and see if it was supported by something, there was nothing visible.

Also remember thinking Ford fucked up by not giving them a Crusader to use, there was a great big poster advertising the Crusader next go it!

My dad fixed many a toy car of mine in the early 1980s with this stuff. Ironically it was never sturdy Matchbox or Corgi cars though, usually some shonky Guisval 1/36 or Bburago 1/24.

Another Eddy model gets started, not in a finishing mood at the mo. This one needs a new transparency.

Everyone seems to be making progress with their purchases from Eddy but I haven't done anything with any of mine except look at them. The Westie Countryman looks good - is it based on the one restored by Practical Classics?

All I've done is make a start! I just wanted to show Eddy that the cars he has collected for so long are getting some love. Payback for him really, I hope.

I remember having that Rolls from new, which must have been about 1965.  And yes, I do appreciate seeing someone give them some love.  The love I no longer can.

PS that hot rod is glorious!

I'm not going to repaint all of Eddys cars,

In fact one of his repaints in particular was so good I was totally unaware until I was told!

I did enjoy painting those Budgies though.

Remain assured though, little Eddy will remain as is ;)
