Had a couple of late deliveries yesterday, firstly this Polistil CX that's only lost 12.7% of its bits

In a small job lot was this Superfast Mustang, one I always find hard to resist even when they've been ridden hard and put away wet

Check out the broken wheels, don't see that often - although I remember it happening to my ERTL General Lee at junior school when I jumped it between two desks

Almost missed this Siva Spyder, unusual for having the chrome loop over the roof rather than black. I've got a better one but they don't show up every day

Here's mine for comparison, I tried quite hard to ply the bonnet out, but gave up as I didn't want to break mine as well

I had already decided to try and make a bonnet in resin which is why I wanted the red one removed to make a mould. I did that with the bonnet attached 

Which produced a resin bonnet with several flaws from air pockets

A coat of paint shows it better

It needs some filler and some lumps smoothed off. I may try to cast it again or I may revert to the tried and trusted method of using sheet aluminium

Well as you can see it went through his restoration shop and came out the other side like bloody new!!!!! Probably better than new actually!

Compare and contrast 😳 I can't contain just how great this is - the bonnet is phenomenal recreation and the respray is the golden cherry on top 👌

Thread drift: That beach hut was here when I moved in 2013, previous owner had it installed when they gave up their real one - it's had a couple of coats of Dulux and its frilly round the edges but it just won't die!

It was my daughters hideout turned teacher prep room, but she's bought a house now so it's mine agsin now 😉

Last, and by no means least, this was not exactly cheap - white Corgi Man from U.N.C.L.E. Oldsmobile 

I was given a good tip at a recent toy fair about these - the blue ones have a ridge around the bonnet sticker, white ones do not. Makes spotting a fake a bit easier

I'd never seen a white one when the model was current (I'm old enough!) but I first noticed them on the secondhand market probably 30 years ago.  I've definitely got one in stock, and a blue one; another blue one I've restored and I might have another white one somewhere.  Or it might have gone, I don't know.

Good news Eddy , i've at last  found the Fiesta chassis !  

Bad news , only 3 wheels LoL .

They're those split things where the  axle riveted end bit is covered with a seperate outer part ..  and i think they were specific to the Vanguards Curnow racing Fiesta , which are a bit pricey ...

If i can find the interior and roll cage too   , the missing wheel part could be with it..

Sounds about right - this one stood out to me as it's missing the gold flash that's normally inside the white area

As best I know they had planned some more including a Miura but the mould had gone. The first ones in 1985 were made in Rochester then not long after the manufacturing was transferred to China, I figure the margin was quite good on them so more models and colours were introduced, I’ve well over a 100 of them which only scratches the surface. Eventually in the early 90’s they became Glo-Racers in neon colours which are quite hard to find. Unused stocks seemed to find their way into various multipacks or Motorcity sets for years afterwards.

I've after wondered if you could get identical Super GTs with both England and China bases,  but I've never found any. It seems the Chinese ones are always different to the original English versions

A few die cast gubbins to discuss this evening, in no particular order. Found another Matchbox Continental in Morrisons so I freed it

QC is not the best, red mark on the roof and nasty paint defects on the bonnet

I'd like to line this up with a stock original Lesney but my lowered custom was easier to get my hands on

Shame the lacquer has crazed on mine

Another Morrisons find was this Integrale that I didn't buy when it originally came out

The reason I was out in the first place was to collect my Christmas present to myself, this Go-Bots Super Couper which was in the junk shop's window display

In the post late last night were a tidier Espana Corgi Chevrolet Van than the current one

And a Dinky Dublo VW van

Someone has poured glitter glue in the Karmann Ghia. The bonnet is missing and I'm guessing some air intake? Cool casting that I have some how missed.

Zylmex Rolls is a nice thing with the spirit of ecstasy still intact!!
