I won't be around much for the next few days so I'll say Happy Christmas everyone now and thanks for brightening up my otherwise miserable existence this year with some brilliant threads :D

 

Also I hope that all of those who haven't had a very good 2011 for whatever reason have a lot better 2012

 

Please feel free to add (if you're not too grumpy :wink: )...........

Likewise, although I don't post as often and as interesting as I should this is my new fave place to virtually be.

I will be trying not to be posting over the hols as I will inevitably be continually drunk & end up offending someone.

In the PC world known as the USA the saying Happy or Merry Christmas has been outlawed. It's now known as happy holidays, so as not to upset some ethnic or religious group of interfearing busybodies.

 

 

Where on Earth did you hear such nonsense? Sounds an awful lot like the ficticious "War on Christmas" propaganda Faux News spews out to keep right-wing, Bible-thumping simpletons in a state of perpetual fear.

 

I can assure you Christmas is alive and well in the USA. Our corporate overlords and consumerist society wouldn't have it any other way!

It has peen a personal sh** year for me, and you haven't heard much from here. I have enjoyed the posts immensly and even the arguments are mostly funny :twisted:

The bad side: my Christmas day will be over when yours starts.

The good side : Today, Christmas eve, is one of those perfect sumer days and will hit about 25 C

Just an observation, over here in Mass i've not heard anyone say merry christmas in the stores, on the radio or tv, or seen any of the usual brightly lit Merry Xmas signs. It's all happy holidays, except for the expats, Irish bars, and people who are not dealing with the general public for their work. It's true.

Well I will be happy to see the back of this year, its been the most stressful and worrying year I have ever had so I shall be getting very drunk and forgetful now :-)

 

Anyway I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
