  1. Wrong question, that is exactly why I asked here 😂 I have nearly finished the Laguna GT that has stood in the rain for 12 years due to a faulty gearbox. Drives nicely. After a lot of Work, it now has a MOT and there seems nothing wrong with the gearbox. Strange... GT means it has the Megane Sport engine I will start driving and see what happens. I have presented the Car on here before. It is a shared project with a good friend who has just recovered from cancer. Daniel
  2. Hi, I managed to walk away from this. Quite hard really. Very comfy seats, huge windows and tan interior make it feel very airy inside. Great colour as well. 2.0turbo auto, 6month mot, 60t miles and only 1000 Euros. Drives and stops. Double beige is just great. Perfect Car to bump into things and wet your pants. And end up in flames. But no smell of piss and it would clean Up Well. I just can't justify it. Does nothing better than my Laguna and weighs 200kg more... Or should go back? 😜 Daniel
  3. Hi, I don't know what was wrong with the seat. But I would recommend getting your best school French / Google translate out and look at the French forum, for example https://www.r25-safrane.net/t13881-resolu-siege-electrique Sounds like typically it is "oxydation des contacts" of the on / off Button. Daniel
  4. The exterior colour is boring. So actually this Red leather is a Bonus... Before setting off for the collection we had to fix my friend's Super Shite espace v6. Now the previously dead Radiator Fan comes on with the lights. And of course the police stopped us and we were lucky the let us off with a 30 Euro fine... The laguna is a shared project with a friend who has just overcome cancer. Dan
  5. Hi, I think the laguna 2 has fallen out of flavour here a bit. 😀 I don't know if I should create a thread on my new purchase. A laguna 2 Gt, with the detuned Megane Rs motor and the special black and red interior. The best bit is the the lpg system. But it has been standing outside for 12 years after the gearbox failed... Have a few pics. First task was a wash. Worst bit was cleaning out the fuel Tank with 20l of gummed up stale fuel which has already ruined 2 fuel pumps. Dan
  6. Yes, a r25 turbo... A 1991 green one, lhd. I am considering selling it as I just don't use it. I am sure there is a thread about it. Here is more info on the auto lock problem https://www.renaultforums.co.uk/threads/laguna-door-switch.60945/ Dan
  7. Hi, I do like these lagunas as well. I now own a 2.0t Version on lpg which is great. You can get Auto lock to work if you swap the door light bulbs for LED (w5w) ones. I suppose the display does not show if a door is open either? Cheap and quick fix. Daniel
  8. Hi, sometimes I am running out of mojo with this project. Suppose I am not the only one. But finally, during the (not as tough as yours) German lockdown, I have had time to work on the Renault 30. It will need welding in the inner mudguard at the front. The rear looks a lot better and I just applied heaps of protective grease while changing the rear shocks. New NOS rear and front bumper which I am sure EVERYBODY here realizes is not adequate because they are from a R20Ts and don't wrap around the corners as much. Have some pics. I hope I will get it on the road this year... Daniel
  9. I think warm showers are a great idea And offering to wash the clothes is not due to sympathy with the biker but with oneself - they explained to me in Sarajevo. They do seem to get some smelly folks... which does not surprise me. I had only 4 t-shirts myself. Daniel
  10. Hi, I would not consider your trip during winter... However, I enjoy reading about it. As you are close to Cologne I can offer my support. Bike parts, a washing machine, a warm shower or a bed are available in central Cologne. That's what they told me one should offer to a biker when I checked into Sarajevo's The doctor's house hostel last summer... Since then you will also find me on warm showers. I prefer temperatures over 30 degrees to this cold: I did Corfu-Sarajevo last summer. This picture was taken close to the Tara canyon / Montenegro. Send a PM for my number. Regards Daniel
  11. Hi, I am quite relieved. One just cannot justify a car being a burden in life. There are enough serious hassles one has to face. Great if the buyer can spare 12k for a restauration. Daniel
  12. Hi, I have got one of these. Bought it for 100 Euros. It hasn't got the latest cassette but I won't need it for my R25 V6T... There is also a Xr25 pc version that I got running. It is a useful piece of equipment. However, it just sits on the shelf as my R25 runs faultlessly. Daniel
  13. Hi, great news: My dad bought a 1998 Grand Espace V6 converted to manual gearbox and LPG for 750 Euros. I was going to buy it but he took it off me when we went looking at it. It's a non-runner. Hats off, as he's 73 years old I was undecided but he wanted it. It must be in the genes. Here is us picking it up. Sorry, for the shite pic: daniel
  14. What we'd want to avoid is this: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/motor-getriebe-von-ein-renault-20-ts/766688780-223-6651 Daniel
  15. Hi, you can count on me as well. I would even ask the landlord to cut out the nearside rear quarter panel before the German car is crushed. I guess he'd only to it if you paid for it. And transport is another question. We have moved all the other bits so it is up to him to crush the shell. My R30td is nearly roadworthy. But still, I don't find the time to get it on the road.
