  1. I already know what this is... but I'll stay quiet. In the spirit of playing along, chodspeed an' that.
  2. My Grampa had a handful of these, ranging from 2009 to 2016 plate cars, albeit hatchbacks but still diesels. Used them all as tow cars and thought they were very good. Now onto a 2019 Insignia with the same engine.
  3. If mine is affected then I'll probably set fire to it and go back to my early 90s bubblejet lump of a thing.
  4. Some cracking photos there. I really like that red 850.
  5. This fine motor is the reason I joined here in the first place.
  6. I'd do it, but by the time I arrived you'd have been able to go to Argos and buy a machine and have made you and your extended family some toasties.
  7. I'm not saying you could do the same as your Dad here, but you could re-Focus... It's even 'project ready' or whatever buzzwords the marketing type for knackered shitheaps are using these days.
  8. The trailer got used for the first time this year. Had some lawnmowers to bring from my Granda's as our garden is a substantial headache due to the area of it. Skoda earned its keep nicely today.
  9. Tell Ryan he was to join like. He'd fit in well.
  10. Wonderful. I rather like this. If you get fed up of it let me know.
  11. If this is what I think it is, then I've seen a photo of it elsewhere.
  12. Fabia update: Window is now less borked, brand new regulator from eBay was fitted. Works better than it did. Result. The stereo is back to the cassette and CD changer combo Sony lump I've got, with the changer in the boot, again. Glad I didn't take the wiring out! Result. Furthermore, in this process, I could replace the pollen filter with greater ease since the glovebox was coming out anyway. For such an insignificant job, you'd think it hadn't taken me two years of "I'll get round to it" to actually do it. Doesn't smell like death when you first turn the blower on now. Result. Ordered a 2001 brochure for these cars, because I haven't actually got anything like that for the Fabia. Found a set of wheels I'd like, but can't find on eBay. Less of a result, but still cool. Further to that, the drop links have been replaced on both sides now. Only took a lot of swearing and the ANGERY GRINDER OF DEATH to get the fuckers off. No knocks. Result. Finally, it's been doing mileage quite the thing again, done in excess of 25,000 miles since I bought it, and plenty to go with SkodaFest in June and ShiteFest in July, not to mention various trips here, there, and everywhere. Still need to go to Selkirk to collect a wing for the Focus... eventually.
  13. Looks great Dougie. That A-frame is a familiar sight for me.
  14. Smashing, will do. Living in Ayrshire but am out and about quite a bit, so a good chance of seeing you.
  15. Absolute class this, and not even far from me. Nice.
  16. Is that a US market bumper on the Golf, out of interest?
  17. Likewise. Scottish Water and Openreach carved up the roads, half arsed the resurfacing, and the potholes around that are wrecking our cars. Speaking of the above, Scottish Water's road folk (I presume this is hired out carry on) dug a massive hole outside my Granda's driveway and then surfaced it back again, it's now breaking up at the edges a month or two later.
  18. Bumper bag of Quavers and a Focus...? 😂 Seriously though, would have been ideal for a friend who is local, but she's got her eye on a K12 Micra and a low budget unfortunately.
  19. Sharks as usual. I'd try a few other places. It's not always a mobile SMART repair, prep centres in Ayr and Linwood have proper* painting facilities and suchlike where they doll up trade ins for them to be sent to dealerships. The valeting bays were next to the paintshop when I worked at the Ayr branch.
