Hondas. Owned four (of which one is still owned), and contemplating the purchase of another. Exciting they are not, but well engineered and fabulously reliable.

My cars aren't old enough to be interesting in this regard (V and 02 plates) but I've already noticed that most of the motors in my local scrapyard are around the same age, which makes you think.

Cheers chap, I hope it will be straightforward and thankfully no, it's not Direct Liars.

Neither party was injured nor had any passengers so I won't be inflating everyone's subsequent premiums by demanding a daily hire Q7 for the duration nor filing for whiplash.

Ah, I hadn't realised that the Sceptre estate came so late in the run. Thought it was a late Arrow from the shape of the front bumper. Looking forward to seeing more.

Good work. Like a ZR160 but a bit more restrained. Ripe for losing the alloys and building a sleeper 211i replica.

To redress the balance, this is salty but lovely.  Early model so has the wanky cheap-ass door mirrors totally unbefitting what was, at the time, a 7 grand car - when a decent-spec 2-litre Granada would set you back about half that amount.  Shame it doesn't have the horrid 2-spoke steering wheel the early ones also had.

As an aside, I'd like to see the film 'Twins' remade starring Hairnet and TooSavvy.

At the risk of repeating myself, I must counter the proliferation of Hondas presented over the last couple of pages by pointing out that they suck enormous levels of donkey dong in the fuel economy stakes.

Think the ZX has passive rear wheel steering - something to do with compliance of the bushings forcing the rear wheels to follow the fronts under hard cornering forces.

Not the same as the active RWS the Japanese went mad for in the late 80s - you could buy Galants, Preludes and 626s so equipped.

Has this died out completely or is there a car on the UK market today available with this feature?

Friend of mine has perhaps the ultimate shite spec 924, a metallic brown auto. Unfortunately the gearbox is buggered so it's been a lawn ornament for the last 18 months.

Three sets of spark plugs, three transmission fluid changes, one set of discs all round, one set of rear pads, two sets of front pads, four sets of tyres, two cambelt changes, one pair of front shocks, a battery. two exhaust downpipes and twenty oil and filter changes. One K&N, reoiled twice.
