I bought this last year with the intention of using it as a stealth camper for festivals and shows and getting away for the weekend, it returns around 50 mpg so is perfect for cheap weekends away. I've taken it for a tour of the Lake district, down to Cheshire and up around Aberdeenshire and north of Inverness and it hasn't missed a beat.

I love my c15 but it rarely gets used at the moment, I would like to find an old Sherpa to use as a weekend sleeper instead.
Previously used and maintained by a garage in Livingston, there's some ghosting from the vinyl which was once fitted. I am told that some polishing would probably remove the ghosting.
It's a straight 1.9l dw8 n/a diesel engine, Citroen bx gti front seats, the 106 rallye steels have been removed in favour of the original 13 inchers. There's a plastic load liner in the back and it has a wind deflector and rear roof rack. It's a basic little van - keep fit windows, manual steering rack and no central locking but that just adds to the charm of the little van and there's less to go wrong.
It's had a recent silencer and a pair of brand new driveshafts as well as newly fitted glow plugs and it starts first time every time.

The bodywork is good overall, inner and outer sills, chassis and floors are good and it's had some recent welding along the body to sill joining area. It's solid overall.
Rear axle, shocks and springs are in decent condition and it handles well over bumps.

I have a lot of spares from another van including a bonnet, doors, lights and various engine ancillaries etc.
It drives fine and is happy to sit at 70-80 on the motorway.

C15s are fully sick.

My daily C15 has been a 90mph+ outside-lane commuter weapon since I disconnected the mysterious vacuum-controlled butterfly valve on the air-box intake. It gifted it at least an extra 1000rpm.

I’m waiting with interest to see if driving it constantly at valve-bouncing rpm will cause it to explode. No signs of trouble in 5000 miles. In fact, it just keeps getting faster.

With such treatment, 5000 miles equates to roughly 12 tanks of diesel and exactly one pair of front tyres.

Here it is enjoying its monthly service…

I have yet to scratch this major itch..

Does it need immenent belt changes?

Also, what kinda condition are the tires in?

Belts done at 50k, mileage now at 68k. Tyres are OK, there's a pair of winter tyres and another 6 extra wheels with tyres fitted in my heap of spares.
