The Mrs Ramrod Update Thread

Since so many of you guys have been kind enough to offer messages of support, I thought I'd lift this saga out of the Grump thread where it's clogging traffic a bit.

Besides, today's news really doesn't belong in there. She was awake this afternoon! Not lucid yet, but at least her eyes were open. She does look a whole lot better than when she was moved into ICU on Thursday.

What's the official diagnosis?

A step in the right direction. I prescribe a couple of Keos and a large glass of Metaxa. (For you, not her...!) When you see her next, tell her it's my fault. Were I a little closer I would join you in a wallowy moment. Good news that she appears to be on the mend! Big hug.

That's good news, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your missus and you.

There isn't one yet warren, we're waiting for test results, but the doc I've been talking to says he's pretty much ruled out a stroke, which leaves encephalitis (I really must check the spelling of that). He's treating her for that, and considering she's improving, I reckon he's got it right.

Albert:  but I'm afraid I won't be able to accept your prescription as I'm alcohol-free. A cold Pepsi and a Yorkie bar, now that's much more tempting....

And thanks to all of you for all the support. I can't say that enough.

Glad to hear you get some better news Eddy, it certainly seems about time that things looked up.

It always makes me feel shit to think that there's someone on the other end of a broadband line who'd give anything for someone he loves to feel better. :(

Autoshite has always been a place where people can share their thoughts about virtually anything and be able to count on the support of other members. Long may it continue.

I've had a really shit day, but nothing like this - best wishes and good luck to you both :)

Pepsi Max, Raisin and Biscuit.... Now you're talking. Just ideal for the M6 on a Friday night in Summer, when it's absolutely pissing it down, and all you can see is brake lights ahead of you. (Just to make you realise WHY you left the UK) :)

My prayers and best wishes to your wife Eddy.

I hope the news continues to improve.

Peter.

Sorry your beloved is poorly , I do hope things continue to improve .

Thinking of you both

I think the grumpy thread should be temporarily halted because whatever there is to grump about isnt important any more compared to this

Should I box up a box of Yorkie bars? Keep your chin up Eddy, and sod the parcel money for the moment.

All the best, to you and Mrs R, hope she gets better soon.

Neil.

Thank you everyone, it means a lot to me.

OK, visited twice today. I'm only supposed to stay half an hour each time but they don't seem too keen to fling people out unless they're actually working on the patient, so I got a good hour in, each time. Her eyes were well open today but I don't know how much she's taking in, and she can't tell me yet. I keep holding her hand and asking her to squeeze my finger, but so far without success. When she can I'll know she's back with us. I would guess that it won't be long from there to leaving ICU. I hope!

Our best wishes to you and Mrs R. Really hope she pulls through this soon.

Sorry Jon, somehow I missed this one! Kind offer, thank you; yes please. Raisin'n'Biscuit is the one I like.... Have to look after my own health too, physical and mental. Who cares for the carer?
